Would you have been upset with Saban more if....

He would've left LSU (for 'health reasons') then a year later returned to another program much like Urban Meyer is rumored as opposed to leaving LSU for the NFL then returning to college a couple of years later?

Probably. Mainly because Saban really wanted to try the NFL. I don't think you can get adequate "family and health" rebuilding that quickly. Something smelly fishy about his time in FL

If Saban hadn't come back to a divisional rival he wouldn't get nearly the hate that he gets. So I imagine that UF fans will be a little upset, but not nearly as pissed off if Urban had come back to coach at Tenn or UGA.

I don't think it was health reasons anymore. There was something going on in the program imo. You don't leave a job like that with the money, talent, facilities, etc. that Florida has without good reason. I bought it at first and figured he wanted to do broadcasting which I could understand. It seems now that he wants to keep coaching and that makes me wonder.

I didn't really fault Saban when he left LSU for "his dream" but thought he handled it poorly by lying about it and by leaving us in a bad position in terms of a coaching search (which fortunately worked out).
However, when he pulled the same shite at Miami in selling the guy that gave him his "dream job" and every ounce of control he demanded down the river in the same fashion, with the same lies, I realized he is just a shitty person and egomaniac.
And, for the record, I don't hate Saban. I just recognize him for the shitty person he is. There are lots of shitty people in sports, and he is but one of them. Damned good coach though.

Saban must have broken into a bunch of homes and mentally cock slapped a ton of LSU fans before he boarded that Miami jet. We just can't let this shite go.

I'm not upset with Saban, I lost respect for him for how he handled the move, his double standard of "do as I say not as i have done" in regards to commitment and loyalty is what ginds my gears.

Urban has come out saying that ESPN has gotten YET ANOTHER coaching rumor all wrong.
And the reason people hate Nick Saban is not b/c he's at Bama. They hate him b/c he's not honest or loyal.
That being said, I don't hate him. I just like to see my Tigers crush his little dreams.

any coach that leaves college to go to the NFL does not surprise me. The way Saban did it, yea sucked, and he's a douche and whatever ele. Don't care about it anymore. But if a coach wants to leave to try the NFL I won't blame him, same way I don't blame a player who leaves early to play in the NFL. You only get one chance sometimes.

I've never had anything against Saban. He brought something to LSU that I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Now thanks to what he started, I have a chance to see it for the third time in eight years. (Thank you Les, for keeping this Ferrari purring). I heard when Saban was thinking about leaving LSU, Jimmy Sexton asked him, "do you want to be the next Don Shula, or the next Bear Bryant?" (Had no idea how prophetic that Bear comparison would be). He always wanted to be like his boy Belichik, and take a whack at the pros. It sucked that he left, and then came back to coach our biggest rival, but beating him makes it all the sweeter.
Meyer on the other hand is one hell of a coach, and a gutless quitter. Florida fans should be livid.
