I'd have season tickets for the next 5 years so I wouldn't feel so bad.

why is everyone assuming that the players started the fight?
Because the only people who have given statements to the police are the "victims" and their friends. The attorneys interviewed the employees of Shady's today and the police will interview them tomorrow along with the players.
Of course, the media already ran with the "victims'" account, so people will always doubt anyone else's account.

I would have whipped my son's arse worse than Jordan Jefferson did for getting behind the wheel at 1:45 a.m. after spending all night at the bar.

He said his clients weren't drinking at Shady's Bar the night of the brawl. He said they went to pick up a friend, and that's when the fight broke out.
I know that's his lawyer speaking, but the cops haven't said anything about them being intoxicated.

Not sure if this has been touched on or not but I have to ask.
In most fights I have seen in Tigerland, where the cops have information on both parties involved, the police usually explain to everyone involved that they can all press battery charges on each other. After the thought of having criminal charges pressed on everyone sinks in, both sides usually go their separate ways. Is it possible that once the team gets to tell their side to the police, it will come out that both sides were at fault and there were no actual "victims" so the charges will be dropped?

My guess is, that the 'victims' decided to go to a hospital only after being told that it might have been LSU football players that made them cry for daddy.
If they were told that the people who whipped their arse all lived in a 1 bedroom duplex on Alaska St., they would have licked their own wounds and denied anything happened.

Players instead of some random guy? (allegedly?)
If my son was drunk, honking at a big group of football players and calling them niggers, I would expect he would he get is butt kicked
As a father, I would just be thankful he actually survived his stupidity.
"If you are going to be stupid, you better be tough"...that's what I tell my son

Really? Your comparing wearing an IOTV in 140 degree heat surrounded by people who want to kill you to wearing football pads and getting tackled? I guess you could compare an IED blast to a football tackle...

My son is 5 years old, so yeah.
If he was a college student and got his arse kicked leaving the bar, I'd tell him to find a new bar......
Other than that, I'd say, just like this case, I need to know the facts of what happened before I made up my mind....

Settle down sparky - I'm assuming you're referring to this quote:
quote:
Just because you wear the uniform doesn't make you a hero any more than wearing a football jersey does
Frankly, I don't disagree at face value. Plenty of a'holes in uniform have done some stupid/non-heroic shite. I think that's his point, not that being on a football team is the same as combat....
