Some car doors don't lock until you're driving around 25 mph.

you don't know that. Their medical records are confidential, and reports are two are seeking further treatment.

agreed, and LSU football players may have committed a crime. Excuse me if the rule of law means something.

what's funny is....I agree with your statement, but make a slight tweak to include ALL parties involved, without deference to what uniform they put on (Student or Marine or Football).

You have a problem with that designation. Days not weeks, right?

Last time I checked, they're alive. Their futures aren't in danger, they sustained no debilitating injuries, and they lawyered up the moment their hangovers wore off
exactly id feel differently if someone was confined to a wheel chair the rest of their life or their face looked like one of those dont drink and drive posters because of the fight.

that isnt the case

I'd settle for suite tickets for a very very long time, especially if a high caliber player kicked the crap out of him....if I got that, no charges would be pressed!

all we have are the police statements. I'll trust the people with no agenda either way, the cops.

ahh, but they only have one side of the story, no? they have yet to talk to the players who are allegedly involved.

I don't know what "days not weeks means". My point is that the alleged victims, at this point, are in a lot less personal danger than the alleged perps. They got their asses whipped. I can't say that's ever happened to me, but I don't get into fights at dive bars with elite athletes who are twice my size. I'm certainly glad that they weren't seriously injured. That being the case, their cuts and bruises are not my primary concern when so much more is at stake (young men's futures, the whole season, the team's rep, etc.).

Not everyone is as cool under pressure as you are. Sometimes people panic when threatened by a group of individuals. What if the driver was looking out his windshield and wasn't paying attention to his side?

do honestly believe they just pulled kids out of a car for merely honking their horn?

I can believe there's a universe where the guy honked his horn and mouthed off to them.

I can also believe there's a universe where he honked the horn and got a "frick you!" for a response.

If you've ever seen a car try to drive across a pedestrian filled street in New Orleans, you've seen both versions.

really? You know all these people, their medical records, what the cops are planning to do next...everything?

Wow, tell us then, please. End all the wild speculation with your knowledge.

If there was law breaking, those who broke the law will have to answer for their crimes. Regardless of "the season". Oh and "the team's rep"?, maybe if they weren't at a bar after curfew THIS WOULDN'T EVEN BE AN ISSUE. You waana talk about rep...please.

That's the society we live in.

Anyone in that environment looking for trouble deserves what comes to them. I was on the giving and receiving end of both when I was younger. When I wised up in my later college years and made the effort to not avoid those situations it's amazing how I was able to do so. IF my son was hauling arse through a parking lot and in a confrontational state in that environment, even if he was "technically in the right" I wound not have a different view of the situation.

If you want to play that "I live in a sophist vacuum" game, be my guest. We all know that the chances that this is a one-sided thing are pretty much fricking nil. I haven't lived in Louisiana since I was 18, but I spent my whole life growing up there, most of my friends went to LSU, and my whole family still lives there. This is probably a case of some drunk kids running their mouths to some other drunk kids who just happened to be better skilled at the art of whooping arse. It was settled on the street. If the law gets involved, everyone should probably be charged.

ETA: I only brought up rep because it's been mentioned so many times. That was a moment of insincerity. I don't know what "rep" all of you self-righteous jackals are talking about. Everyone that I know outside of Louisiana thinks that LSU fans are pretty fricking obnoxious.

that's a crime. Sorry, it is. As one who was charged for just that thing...it most definitely is.

Well, in the real world, I've seen the law work in all kinds of ways. We'll see how this goes.
