Posted by Le'CouteauCache' Nope, TM7 just had an usually great year 2011, I'd bet if he had returned this year everyone would have been severely disappointed.
You do realize he also had a great freshman year also. So a very good freshman year, plus an even more improved SO year means he would have disappointed his JR year?

in 2 games. do your homework. He didn't do shite all year other than Ole Miss or the first game against scrubs.
He basically WON the game against ole MISS. LES.

Yes
I was just talking about this yesterday, felt we have very good players but no one on either side of the ball was that "spark", that game changer that would energize the team.
That is what I see with Johnny football, yes he’s a very talented QB but every game he has a play or two that seemed to amp up his team to play at an even higher energy level.
Tm7 did that many times during the season last year and was the main reason the Tigers won some of the games they did.
I am more concerned about the young man getting his life right so he can go onto the NFL and make a living then I am about him not being on the team.

Any chance Miles lets him back on for 2013?

I doubt it, but I wouldn't be against it. I hope for the kid he at least goes make something of himself somewhere. There could be a lot of worse things for a player to do than smoke weed. It doesn't make what he keeps doing right, but I still hope the best for him. He has done a lot for lsu.

Hell yea, he would have made a difference. I miss him, he was exciting to watch. I hope he gets another chance although I doubt it. There are players that have done a lot of things besides smoking weed that are still playing football. Mett had his problems. He's playing.

In the Florida game I believe he would have made enough to win.
We lost to Florida because we rushed for 42 yards and went 1-13 on 3rd down. UF ran it 58 times and threw 12 passes controlling the clock 37:24 to 22:36. We lost this game on offense because we couldn't sustain drives and UF wore out our front 7. Faulk and Williford would have made a difference.....but not Mathieu.

BRINGING FACTS!!!!!!!!!!
But you are NOT supposed to say things like that on here.

Yes. End of discussion. Pointless to discuss though.
When he got dismissed and then we lost Faulk, hope for this season went down the drain. shite happens in football though.

Bama (Sabin) and Fla (Muschamp) very similar coaching styles who will become more similar over time...would have played LSU differently had TM7 been on the field. Different out come ?, up to LSU and TM7...???

No question he would have made a difference. TM7 thrived in adverse situations for the most part. Even though our offense was pretty stagnant in the UF game, one or two big plays on defense changes the outcome of it easily. Say what you want, our defense missed his presence and attitude. As far as Special teams, well...no one was fearful of Beckham's returns like they were Mathieu's. He was a difference maker in two phases of the game.
That being said, the reason he didn't play is on him. Les did what he had to do.

But he made no difference in the phase of the game that cost LSU in Gainesville on October 6.

If you're talking about the phase of the game that involves actually playing in the game then yes.
You can't tell me the possibility of a punt return or interception for TD wouldn't have changed the game.

Hell no don't let him back. All his pot smoking killed the team in 2011. Just look at how bad he played.
Posted on 11/25/12 at 3:34 pm to LsuNav
No. We lost to UF because Minter was injured for a few plays and they were suddenly able to run the game. We lost to bama because we allowed 2 TDs when we were in the prevent you from winning defense.
Beckham more than picked up the slack on special teams.

Who cares, he's not "TM7" anymore, he isn't allowed to wear that number, because it represents real players who do the right things on and off the field, like PP7 did. Mathieu is not apart of LSU anymore, we need to move on. We won 10 games and our QB is looking to improve hopefully next year, with an above average offense LSU can do wonders.

As long as pot is against the rules Miles did the right thing by booting him. Could not afford the distraction or possibly getting other team mates involved. Difference maker yes, but, moot point IMO.
Yep. When you start letting players get away with shite you pose control of your team. Look at what happened to Urban's final years at Florida.
