The students aren't hurting anyone or anything by using colorful language at college football games.
The athletic department disagrees.

How's this for a compromise: if you don't want to cheer with words that you don't like saying, you don't have to do so, and what somebody else says for fun, you can ignore if you choose. How's that?

Yet, maybe they'll lighten up by the time the Bama game rolls around.

Would the administration prefer the Wisconsin student section

You old people clearly just don't remember the chants yall used to do. There was a thread on it a while back. Way more than the "occasional" four letter word.

Yep. frick these old farts who are making a big deal out of nothing. It's not your birthday anymore, geezers. Get the frick over it.

Since you probably aren't that very good at math -a person who graduated from LSU in 1989 is not an old geezer. Not even close.
But I sure would rather be a member of my class at LSU than the trash going there now.

it was.

however no one expects you to admit it, esp. since you have no idea what class is. and it is obvious you don't care. if you are a student you will soon learn or hopefully you will learn that class and civility help in getting along in this world in addition to helping increase income so you can spoil your children like we did.

Delusions of grandeur much? Good job on raising what is probably the most entitled and lazy of generations we've seen. Are we supposed to pat you on the back for that?

And double props on also being another giant hypocrite. Yall were vulgar in your day, you just weren't on TV every Saturday to display it. So basically, it was OK that you did it when you were younger, but current students should act like your boring arse now? You sir can kindly go frick yourself with your bullshite opinion.

When have you ever heard the STTDB chant without a song being played by the band?

The student section may try to start this on their own now, but it definitely won't be "cued up" by the band.

Heard it multiple times on Saturday.

"old geezer" isn't a math term.

Sounds good. I think I might start roaming the stadium and creating a chant with the N word.

I am comfortable with you doing this, and I am comfortable with what will happen to you afterward.

I am comfortable with students chanting the things that they chant, and I am comfortable with all the nothing that happens to them as a result.

Great post, great point, and please drop N bombs a-plenty at games from now on.

That troll response was basically just for ballscaster. That dude does nothing but troll every thread looking to get a rise out of people. He never adds anything of substance to any threads.

No, the Administration, LSU Alumni, LSU fans, etc.
would PREFER that 18-22 year old adults ACT LIKE adults, instead of middle school students.

I feel sorry for your employers if and when you graduate.......

I'm closer to retirement age than college age.
I am honest about how things were at LSU in the 1980's when I was a student and the student body is better behaved today than the student body of my day.

BTW, what is the internet most used for? Pornography. Our society is very crude, vulgar and self-centered. I expect such from 18-22 year olds because they are still teens and still maturing, making many mistakes and experimenting the arrival of being an adult (which quickly fades and you spend the middle and latter years of life reminiscing about your youth). Many of us left home at 18 for LSU and it was the first time in our lives we didn't have to live by our parents rules. College allows for that time of maturity that comes with being an adult and when I was there it allowed for us to legally partake in adult beverages, which flowed more powerfully on the LSU campus than the river that is adjacent to the campus.

Hell, I loved the drinking and parties on campus and all the bars around campus that todays student can't enjoy until they are 21.

Finally, students are future alumni and the university would be better off building better relationships with them than the continual parental "taking their toys away for your bad behavior." I loathe that coming from the university almost as much as I loathed the photoshopping of the crosses off that group of Christians. The administration is obsessed with controlling speech all for "image" without realizing that such control is damaging to the image of the university.
