I think so. The UDub secondary was suspect all night but Nix just doesn't have the deep ball like JD5 has to torch them.

Would Oregon have won if Drew Brees (in his prime) was playing for them?

See? This is a dumb post

That is a dumb question. Unlike the OP's question since it is a typical question that gets asked when comparing Heisman candidates.

But the answer to your dumb question is the same as the answer to the OP's valid question, probably so.

Big yes, by double digits. The Tigers could beat eaither of those teams.

That's really the barometer:

Would Oregon have won more with Daniels? Yes -- they would be PAC12 champs and going to the CFP.

Would LSU have won more with Nix? No -- we'd be sitting around .500 this year.

Every honest football fan knows the above is true.

I think it would be interesting to see if they would have run that same dink and dunk offense.

LSU and JD5 made a conscious effort to improve their downfield passing game and not only did they, but they improved it to the point of it being a strength.

Not sure Oregon makes that same commitment, in fact the short passing game is what they want to do.

So if they run the same offense with JD5, and I think they do, would they win? I would still lean to yes because I think JD5 maybe pops a couple of extra runs Nix would not be able to execute.

I mean Washington's national defensive rank was 79th in the country. Wasn't exactly Alabama or A&M's defense or even close.

Switch QBs and LSU is lucky to be a .500 team and Oregon wins yesterday.

No doubt about it. Won both times and be 13-0 instead of Washington.

Would we have beat FSU, UA, UM, with another DC?
