start austin ross.he went only 2 innings saturday.if we could win then have ranuado and coleman .that would set up the same way for the br regional.

if we lose we could still win two with ranaudo and coleman.then we could pitch bradshaw in the 4th game.i like the idea but ive got some guts.i coached a little 11-15 year old team and thats how i would teach them.my baby brother played on that team and hated me but til this day he would say he appeciated what i did for that team.

Who are we going up against? Does Vandy have a big Ace pitcher?

Nah, we have to win. Everyone else will probably be using their big gun up on Wed as well. JMO

It does not matter which lefty they put up against us we have a hard time against lefties. We can not take that chance we have to have someone who can keep the game close for a longer period of time and innings. We do not have middle relief so we have to have Coleman or Ranaudo because with them there is a better chance of going more innings 6,7 or 8 so that we can get to Matty Ott.

Hawthorne talked about this possibility in the postgame show Saturday. I wouldn't necessarily rule it out.

Winning the SEC tourney is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. We need to make sure we retain our national seed which I believe we will if we win one or two games in the tourney, so I would throw or top pitchers first.

Who cares who wins the SEC tourney...

I'm a Mainieri fan, but this would be a mistake. This is not a midweek Southern U type of opponent. We'll be seeing Vandy's best pitcher. No way we should start our #3 guy.

Minor can't start for Vandy, he threw over 120 pitches on Friday. Do you really wanna start Ranaudo after he just threw 125 pitches on 1 less day of rest then he is used to? Why take the chance?

Ranaudo pitched Thursday. If dude can't get it going on 5 full days rest then we are screwed this post-season anyway.

He only needs to pitch once in the SEC tourney, regional and super regional. He can do so on his normal week of rest.

Only in the CWS will he have to pitch on less than 7 days rest. Why do it now in a tourney that doesn't mean much?

I see your point, and Renaudo would be guaranteed to pitch game #2 regardless since it is double-elminiation in the SEC Tourney.

But, LSU needs to win a couple to get a really good shot at that #1 national seed, which would mean a real cakewalk Super Regional. And, imo, pitching Ross in Game 1 of the SECT instead of Renaudo greatly increases the chance of LSU somehow going 0-2 in the SECT. LSU needs to avoid that and not get real cute at this point.
