Jones just looked a bit lost last night at the plate.

Almost like he’s a true freshman that has never seen SEC pitching before.

I’m good with giving the guy some time to get comfortable.

For real.

True freshman, going against a probable first rounder

He def did. Hit a pretty hard struck ball in the 9th for a RBI. Was a vast improvement over the prior ABs of the game. With his recent success prior to the game I think you have to give him more than a game though.

Yeah it's probably a good idea to sit the freshman who leads the team with HRs after one bad performance in his first SEC game....

I wish Beloso would have PH for Neal in the 8th last night instead of Milazzo and then brought in Milazzo when defense came out.

I trust whoever Jay puts in the lineup but usually you won't see Beloso in the lineup with a lefty starting pitcher. But again Jay will play whoever gives us the best chance to win.

In this particular case however, Beloso is a safer bet to put the ball in play more often than Jones, even against a lefty. I wouldn't mind Travinski getting a shot. Johnson started Pearson out of nowhere last night so who knows. He's an all-or-nothing guy like Jones has been recently but he's looked pretty good in limited AB's.

Last night wasn't his first bad performance. He has struggled at times against weaker competition this year as well. He strikes out 50% of the times he steps up to the plate. I'm not saying he should be benched permanently, but I don't think he should be penciled in the everyday starting lineup. There are multiple guys that can make the argument that they deserve at bats.

Nah they are starting a lefty. Tomorrow will be a better day for Beloso. As long as we are winning let Jones find his way. Too much power to sit on the bench if you do not have to.

Beloso is in no way a safer bet against a lefty starter

I think he goes with the same group of players as last night

6 RH + Tre, Neal & Pearson

I would like to see Morgan in LF, Jones at 1B, and Travinski DH against the lefty.

Jones is the man today against a LHP. Beloso when we chase the starter. What’s up with Travinski?

I find it odd that Travinski only has 6 at bats on the year. I figured he would get some PH opportunities especially against lefties. He’s got just as much power as anybody on the team.

Don't really care. I don't have "favorites" or any other agenda. Best player plays. That's it. And I trust this staff to make that call without input from TR.
