Would Larry Fedora make a good OC at LSU?

Anyone have an opinion about Fedora coming in to run the offense?

Edit: don’t even bring up Brandon Harris. That kid was doomed no matter what offense he was in.

Seriously though, every time someone suggests a possible new OC it’s a terrible idea. Who do y’all seriously think should be considered?

He would be the upgrade we deserve, not the upgrade we need.

SE is not a bad play caller, he is just too conservative. Conservative coaches play percentages instead of taking a risk for big rewards. We wanted him to go for the first down and end the game but percentages said leave it to Arana with little time on the clock. If he tried the halfback pass and ended up with incompletion I am sure many would have said running out the clock was the right choice. We need the entire coaching staff to make bold decisions at critical times. Just look at the punt return, we play scared.

No. Another slow playing ball control offense fake pro style is the last thing we need.

Name one OC candidate that you’d call up about the job. Just one. I want to hear what y’all think because literally every time someone suggests a new OC, y’all find something wrong with it

Freeze
Kliff Kingsbury
Kendal Briles
Sonny Cumbie

Any coach that can implement a HUNH spread offense. Simple as that.

Well maybe you in particular haven’t said this but I swear a lot of posters have shot those names down and said that offense doesn’t work in the SEC blah blah blah. They said Kingsbury doesn’t use RBs enough. They said Freeze would be a train wreck.

My son's parakeet would be an upgrade, and he died a few weeks ago.

I would add David Yost and Jake Spavital to this list as well

If they're HUNH spread fast rhythm offenses then I'm game. No more "pro style" offenses.

Agreed. Is he good enough for us to win a championship? Probably not. Is he better than what we have now? Absolutely.

Jimbo Fisher, Bo Pelini, Nick Saban, Drew Brees.

So sick and tired of people thinking LSU will get an all-american offensive coordinator.

Make it stopppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.

Any of these coaches would be perfect. If this recruiting class goes as planned we'd have enough quality depth on defense to be able to support these offenses.

Yost is the OC for Utah State. They are 3rd in FBS Scoring Offense this season. He was with Pinkel in Missouri, Leach in Washington State, and Oregon.

Spavital is the OC at West Virginia. He was with Mahlzan at Tulsa, and A&M with Sumlin.

Dont listen to these people. They are idiots.

These are probably the people who were okay with hiring coach O and also okay with Ensminger. These are not forward thinking folks.

why do this fantasy shite

just about anyone who game plans with plays relevant in this century is a huge upgrade over E

but until such a time as E announces he is retiring/quits, then its the ed and E show until ed is replaced

im not completely sold E is as bad as many say he is or that he deserves as much criticism as he gets but his coaching is very predictable and that makes it way too easy to game plan against him.

add to that an O line that cant protect of give the QB time in the pocket (without getting into the cause of why that is) and clearly he isnt putting us in the best position to win.

everything about this team from coaching to play making ability is average to below average but for a few exceptions on defense.

no one wants to accept it, and its unfair that we must, but this team will be no better then 8-3/10-2 for as long as ed is here i am afraid.

if he admits E isnt getting it done and goes get a good talented OC then i cab support him staying as HC but if he cant see that then its another HC blinded by friendships and/or stupidity that is the reason we cant improve.

if i had a kid ready to go to college i would pay their tuition to be a walk on at another SEC school before i would feel good about them going to LSU under scholarship. this team wont be sending players to any playoffs and i see few getting drafted highly under ed after this years group leaves
