Based on USC with the exact same team and staff or was there something else that Joey impressed you with besides being fired on the tarmac? Was it his tenure at Oakland, leaving UT on probation?

Do tell?

Being an interim coach isn’t the same thing as being a HC.

There is a reason O ended up unemployed after showing how much better he was in 2013, and a Kiffin was an OC at the #1 team in the country.

Also 2013 was 5 years ago what does it have to do with Lane Kiffin AT LSU!

THATS ALL THAT WOULD MATTER

the head coach lost 7 games of his last 11. Is that a good thing? You are ranked #1 in the country and wind up unranked. He did good !!!

Kiffin was hired as an OC not as a HC which he sucked at. Eaux knew he was going to LSU and that is why he turned down the overture from USC. If you don't know that look at the recruitment of Arden Key.

There is no Lane Kiffin and LSU. None.

It would be a 360 degree turnaround. Lane Kiffin would be a home run hire and gets us back in National Championship conversation. We are very far away from that right now.

He took a team that was ranked the #1 team in the country to unranked at season's end. The next season he was fired at the airport after being blown out by a shite team. What are you smoking? Can I have some/

Kiffin wasn't the only coach at UT to hear from the NCAA. His recruiting coordinator got a letter of admonishment as well. You might have heard of him.

For a guy that's been on the rant for damn near 14 years and has over ten thousand posts, I don't ever remember seeing a post by Ree until o was hired as the head coach.

And like you, I believe that once o gets canned, Ree will disappear back into the hole he crawled out of.

Lane Kiffin and David Reaves might not be the only coaches who need to worry about the potential fallout of their time at Tennessee and the resulting NCAA investigation. ESPN is now reporting that Ed Orgeron, recruiter extraordinaire and a member of Kiffin’s Southern Cal staff, is being investigated for allegedly directing a workout for a recruit.

LINK

Under NCAA recruiting rules, schools are prohibited from simulating a game experience for recruits during official visits.

Tennessee issued letters of admonishment to Kiffin and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron and provided the staff with a review of NCAA recruiting policies. Neither the NCAA nor the SEC has issued any punishment.

What was the result? Was he in the wrong? Did he get an admonishment from the NCAA?

Again post something that shows he was in the wrong.

Again, good try, I patiently await your response.

There's no fewer than 10 coaches I'd want before Kiffin. But gun to my head, I take Kiffin over Orgeron 10 times out of 10. And I think he'd have LSU in better shape overall.

I'm not talking going back in time to when Orgeron was hired. Do you think it would be a good move, right now, ti fire Orgeron to hire Lane Kiffin. this isn't a "who would you rather have" question.

Good idea, that's a dicey phrase to use.

This is a classic dilemma. No it's not a good idea, but it's a better idea than keeping Orgeron here.

These are two conflicting ideas. It's either a good idea or it's not. If you think it would be better than keeping Orgeron, then you think it's a good idea. I think you know the reasons why it wouldn't be a good idea so I'm not going to get into that. I just don't think Kiffin is a good enough coach to fire a coach to hire him, which renders this entire thread stupid.

But at the end of the day, Orgeron will be coaching LSU in the 2018 football season. if he does well, he won't be fired. If he does poorly, then we can start talking about replacements. I just don't see the point as to why we have fans that discuss his worth as a coach daily as if anything is going to change this season. I didn't like the hire either, but you can either learn to live with it and hope it works out or be intentionally miserable. I choose the former.
