Kiffin has been fired in dramatic fashion during the season in every major job he has had (well except UT, where he left the team in horrible shape). If you are unable to accept that, then yeah I’d agree this is a fruitless discussion.

I have accepted it.

O has been fired too, after having a much worse record. That's kinda how I know he's a much worse coach.

Neither of these guys are the cream of the crop, but there are levels to this. Here are my preferences in order.

1. Coach with ability and character (Neither of them)
2. Coach with ability and questionable character (i.e. Kiffin)
3. Coach without ability and questionable character (i.e. Orgeron)

Didn't know that. But I usually don't follow Sunbelt teams and didn't realize they could even qualify for bowl games.

Should be very good for Joey Freshwater and his scoring ability with the coeds. HE IS THE MAN !!!!

Because taking over a Pete Carroll team at a program like USC is comparable to taking over for an Ole Miss team that went 4-7 the season prior and completely devoid of talent. I'm sure it was no more difficult for Orgeron to build a program there than it was for Kiffin to sustain a program at USC, probation or not. You think Orgeron failed at LSU with a 9-4 record while Kffin had an 8-5 record at USC his first season there before all the sanctions hit. I'm not seeing how either one is definitively better than the other.

This makes no sense. But I do get the impression that your disdain for coach O consumes a lot of your brainpower

Naw, go ahead since it made your year. I will not follow the Sunbelt conference. I pull for LSU and LSU only.

Kiffin had a 10-2 season with sanctions at USC.

Yes in season 2. Orgeron has not had a season 2 yet at LSU. If you want to compare apples to apples, then maybe wait until Orgeron has a second season. And while the sanctions were levied, his roster had not yet been decimated by sanctions as of 2011 when he went 10-2. The scholarship reductions began at USC at the start of the 2011 season. The only real sanction he had to deal with at that point was the bowl ban. It wasn't until the following years that the sanctions killed their depth. That 2011 team was loaded with elite talent that Pete Carroll left for him. Then the following year, USC was #1 preseason and finished 7-6.

Ah, I see, but then you'll point to 9-4 at LSU and say "see, O is better than he was at OM."

It is consuming. I have to remind myself to breathe. Finally know what O deals with on a daily basis.

And was fired the season after the next year. After the 10-2 season his team was ranked #1 pre-season and wound up unranked.

Do you really want that at LSU? Do you really want Joey Freshwater leading the LSU program?

I think They fired him too soon. Went 3-2 and lost to Leach and A 10 win ASU team.

Reminds me of Les. Talented team loses to 2 underrated opponents and gets canned.

Compared to what we have now, yes. And I can't stand the guy personally. I'm just not a teenage girl, I'm able to separate my emotions from the issue.

He didn't just lose to Leach, he got blown out by them. He also got blown out when he was fired at the airport. His only wins of the season were against Utah State, Hawaii and a shite Big 10 team.
