Would it actually be possible for lsu to become a perennial doormat in sec basketball?

Obviously the last 3 years have been grotesque and unacceptable, but could it actually be possible that this becomes the norm for the program?
My concern is that they have entered a doom spiral in which the rock bottom status scares away good recruits and transfers, leading to yet more rock bottom and more scaring away, until the program becomes entrenched as a doormat (ie like vandy in football)
It worries me a lot that the program is in shambles at the same time the conference is ascendant. Recipe for disaster.

Absolutely not. But it will take the right coach. Hell, Johnny Jones had some strong years and teams here. Will proved it was possible to wake us up and have folks take notice. In fact, he did too good a job.
Now if Woodward keeps this staff around, then yes.
