If it offended one person that might potentially see it or comment on it then woke LSU would have none of it.

Love this video, all those shots are from the ‘09 season leading up to us demolishing them in Omaha.

Not a fan of small ball, however.

Vintage Skip would make this sound like a girl scout cookie meeting.

Yeah, Skip would have told them “It’s my fault, I recruited y’all”

When I first saw this video a few years ago, I had nothing but absolute respect for him, and envied those players that got to play for that cat.

After the Tigers beat them for the championship in '09, Garrido wrote a personal letter to Mainieri to congratulate him.

Class act and one the great college baseball coaches.

Demolishing them? It went 3 games and one our wins was in extra innings

That was a dogfight series

But Augie as LSU’s coach? Not no but HELL no. Frick small ball.

He’s dead, man. No need to become enraged at the idea of him coaching LSU

Imagine having drinks and shooting the shite with Augie, Skip & Wayne Graham at the same table.

They don't make them like they used to!

I’m not enraged but I can see how my post came across that way. I edited.

And you can’t take a guy “in his prime” based on a video made several years after

The coaches from Augie and Skips era were just a different breed. It wasn’t about winning baseball games, but about working hard and not laying down when life gets tough, but getting yourself out of adversity. Never give up. They turned boys into men.

It’s still kind of the same today, but it’s more about baseball and getting to the next level. Things and society are just different today. There are a few coaches, like Matt Deggs, where baseball isn’t the most important thing he’s teaching.
