Perhaps some of you need to make friends with those fatcats so you can get their tickets when they don't use them.
Why would they want to do that? They could have gone to Baton Rouge this weekend and gotten tickets for pennies on the dollar, if not for free.
They'd rather bitch about not having tickets on a message board than actually going to the game.

So, let's see, even if you don't have season tickets, you can buy them from someone who does, sit in his/her seat and stay for the whole game.
That is what I try to do on most occasions, I was just being a jackass last night harassing people that were leaving. I was hoping that someone would be so upset about the game that they may take me up on my offer to buy the full season for next year in the South EZ.

When you live an 8 hour drive away from Baton Rouge you appreciate how much it means to come to a game in Tiger Stadium and support the team. The local fans who've held onto season tickets and gotten complacent need to let new blood come in who aren't only interested in socializing when its convenient.
1st of all, I'd like to Congratulate the Tigers on a great come back win!!!
2nd, if you were at the stadium last night before the start of the game, you would have been given a ticket. There were plenty of people trying to give away tickets. So maybe try getting tickets before you bash season ticket holders. (And I am not a season ticket holder.)
3rd, I understand the people driving from 4, 5, 8 hours away would want to stay for the entire experience.
I live right down the road from the stadium and we left at the end of 3rd quarter. In fact I heard the TD that gave us 10 points, from just outside the stadium. There were 4 of us and not one of us thought there was a snowballs chance in hell that we would have come back. The play calling up to that point was poor at best, and our D could not stop their offense. I can’t wait to watch the replay.
Point is, most people on the board are LSU Fans, and damn sure everyone in the stadium on Sat. night are tiger fans too. If you want to go to the game; then get on your computer or go to the game and BUY TICKETS. Then you can do with them whatever you want.

You are missing the point of the original post. He would rather the tickets belong to a real LSU fan, not just some fair weather supporter who leaves when things look rough.
The fans were a disgrace and I was embarrassed to see the stadium ½ empty in the 3rd when we were down. The fans make Tiger Stadium and when they aren't staying to cheer the players to victory, it makes us look like assholes.
Hell, Rece Davis even said something about it on College Football Final.

Hey, if you are such a fan you would have been there last night - many tickets available. Instead of critizing the fans that left early maybe you need to look at yourself for not even showing up!!

there are thousands of disappointed REAL LSU fans every year who can't get good seats or season
I love how these alleged "real" fans don't even watch the games in person, don't spend their money like season ticket holders do to support the team, yet feel like they can actually criticize anyone who devotes time and money into supporting the program. Sorry, but all of the "real" fans go to the games. The "casual" fans save their money and watch it on TV.

Dude was in New Iberia how many people could afford to ride out there because I wanted free tickets and posted and didn't get response. Bottom line LSU has lame, fair weather, bandwagon fans(for the most part NOT ALL). That stadium was 80% full at kickoff and before half 15% full

he proejo, quit being cheap and donate money to TAF and buy season tickets

Has anyone else made the observation that this was originally an open date weekend, and everybody and their brother was getting married?
I took my 3 year old to her first game because the wife was at a wedding in Shreveport, while family and close friends were at weddings in Monroe, Baton Rouge, and Natchez (MS).

Again making it even easier for the TRUE Tiger Fans to find tickets.
This true fans can't get tickets thing is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen.

We have Bertman and TAF to thank for the last 2 National Championships.

I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen the campus soooo empty on game day. The RV lots along Nicholson Ext were maybe 30% full. People had scheduled other things for this weekend because it was supposed to be an open date.

I am not trying to start a buch of crap, I just want to say that I don't think you are entirely correct. I am a REAL fan and an LSU graduate, but I don't make a ton of money. Not to mention the fact that my husband is an unfortunate Alabama fan. So, let's face it, I will probably never have the money or opportunity to invest in season tickets. But I try to make at least a couple of games in person each season. The problem is that when LSU is winning and/or ranked high, the price of tickets become so inflated. I mean, there is no way that I could have paid $400-500 a ticket for the Alabama game. And I wanted to be there REALLY bad. So I don't think it is fair to compare what a REAL fan is by whether or not they can "come up with a way to get tickets." I would pony up the money if I had it. But I catch every other game on TV. I even re-arrange my work schedule to try and be off when the Tigers are playing.
I had a great fan off of here clue me into some returned Tulane tickets that were being sold for a discount. I scarfed them up and took my 3 yr old son to his first Tiger football game. It was AWESOME!
I think the point of some posters on here is that those of you who are fortunate to have the luxury season tickets and don't fully take advantage of it, don't see that there are people who do without and would love to be in your position. It is easier to let something go to waste, when you know you will always have it. I know there will be some who will call this jealously. Maybe they are right, but as a person on the outside looking in, all I am gonna say is just be grateful for what you have that so many others wished they could get. Oh and.....
