If every post of yours from now on is going to be as fricking stupid as the ones you've made since you've been back, perhaps you could do us all a favor and fly your fricking chopper into the side of a mountain.

Here's whats curious...how does SHE get a job in the Athletic Department? This stinks. LSU knew they were dating since before Shep went to LSU and took care of the gf by giving her a job in the AD. In a world gone mad, we will not spank
Oh noz. A student with an on campus job. Wtf do we do?

It doesnt fricking matter. She is a student at lsu. She maintains a certain gpa and is allowed to have an on campus job. Any one can get oneif you apply.

i want to say she was at LSU before shep, i could be wrong though.

Agree, this is a non-issue and the kind of b.s. that keeps ESPN on the air 24/7.

What exactly is the problem?? Is she paying for all of it and Shep not paying a dime? It's off-campus housing right?

I'm sick of this shite. So what, he lives in an apartment that he pays for with money he is supposed to use to pay for it with a girl who pays part of the rent who works for the Athletic Department. Big fricking deal. Why doesn't ESPN try to explain how televising Texas highschool football games that target Texas recruits and pays millions of dollars to Texas is not a freaking compliance issue and doesn't give a major advantage to the richest athletic program in the country.

i think shep has the potential to be great.
To date, I haven't seen anything that would worry me and I had high expectations when he signed.
Any LSU fan who called Joe M a bust (and many did) and not saying the same about Rus S. to this point shows you how blind fans can be.

We can take the attitude of "so what", but the reality is that LSU decided not to bring Shep to SEC media week. If this was nothing, he would have been there. That's what worries me.

Shep isn't a bust, just not the dual threat-type guy he was in High School. Hello, this is the SEC, and he's playing a different position. Some people need to get in touch with reality.

This thread isn't about him being a bust or not (which I think calling someone who is playing at a new position not even two full seasons yet a bust is retarted, but anyway). If Shep is deemed ineligible then LSU could be in a shitload of trouble. For those of you who think losing him wouldn't hurt you are out of your fricking mind.
LSU losing Shep = LSU dealing with some major violations from the NCAA.

Oh for fricks sake. She was here BEFORE Shep. She's the main reason he's even here. She's been employed for a few years and Shep moved in with her a few fricking months ago. Also, you make it sound as if getting a minimum wage student job is somehow a prestigious accomplishment because its in the AD.

If we lost Shep it would do absolutely zero to our on the field play
You are the dumbest mother fricker on TD. A junior with rare speed and elusiveness who can read defenses and help the qb when on the field, and you think we wouldn't miss him?
When they KNOW he's getting the ball, he averaged 6 yds per touch!! Name someone else who has done that in the SEC last year.
Lack of football IQ just kills this board

Players can get a housing stipend to live off campus but that money has to all go directly to housing, otherwise it amounts to putting cash in a players pocket. I would guess the potential problem would be that he moved in to her apartment (without informing the LSU compliance office and while still collecting his housing checks for his old apartment) and then pocketed his housing stipend, which would be an impermissible benefit.
It wouldn't be a problem if his housing allowance was going directly to the new apartment and she was living there rent free since pu$$y isn't an "impermissible" benefit. But I don't think a "story" would have emerged if that was the case.
Of course the obvious solution to all of this is for him/LSU to claim that she paid the rent from her personal checking account and that he reimbursed her with cash from his housing stipend. I don't see how you could disprove that claim without doing some heavy digging into records that probably wouldn't even be available.
Sheppard would probably be punished by the school with something minor - like sitting out a few games, or whatever on par with smoking a joint - for his failure to keep the records kosher but the school itself would avoid further NCAA sanctions.
Another potential problem could be with the girlfriend's job. If there was something fishy about how she got the job, how much she was paid or whether or not she was required to show up for work (see OU auto dealership) then that would be a problem and the NCAA can definitely dig into that, unlike say a private apartment complex or a non-scholarship athlete's personal banking records. But I doubt that's the case. I don't think LSU's football team would be stupid enough to funnel benefits through a girlfriend since it's probably just a matter of time before she becomes a jilted ex-girlfriend and who wants that liability running around?

So basically a player can't live with any student workers for LSU (girlfriend or not)? If the rent is split evenly, I fail to see a problem.
I may not be understanding the situation.
ANYONE can apply to be a student worker for the athletic department. Why can't an athlete live with one? It's not like a millionaire booster or the AD or coach or anything like that.
