How he responds to this shite show will define if he is what we hope he is.

He already signed Bo’s contract so it’s tarnished already

This was the same dude that signed jimbo at A&M... you fricks think he's gonna do the right thing here?

Even A&M fans admit that boosters gave him a blank check and said "Get Jimbo" and he did. And they're currently #5 in the country. At Washington he got Sarkisian and Peterson, which were both huge hires for them.
The only thing contractually he's ever done at LSU that needs to be questioned is the Pelini contract, but 99% of ADs are doing that for a coach that just had the best season of all time.
Scott Woodward has shown to be an incredibly competent AD at 2 other schools and hasn't even made a major hire here yet. You guys need to chill the frick out and be patient.
He has no legacy here yet, give him the chance to build one. He's brand new.

how is that not the right thing
A&M is currently #5, they have an outside shot at the playoff, they seem to recruiting well, my guess is they are pretty satisfied at the moment.

He can make it up to us by somehow getting Urban Meyer here or Hugh Freeze

Get that reason and logic out of here. Everyone hates Scott Woodward because he’s living with Joe Alleva’s absolute fricking mess. He didn’t put us in this spot, he will get us out of this too. He’s competent and intelligent and deserves WAY more credit than he’s getting

Well that and gave O a huge raise that is now killing us...

Woodward did exactly what the brass at ATM wanted. Is that really a knock on him?
Jimbo wanted an amount of money ATM was happy to fork over. They're also #5 and just beat us, sooooo...where's the problem if you're an ATM fan?
Meanwhile, we're over here one year removed from the greatest team and season of all time playing tiddlywinks on a message board because our program is a dumpster fire.

With all of the Woodward discussion lately this should have its own thread.
You are spot on.
Using Jimbo and Bo is a myopic view of the situation. There are 3 separate issues here.
1)Boosters wanted Jimbo, communicated that to Woodward, and gave a blank check to make it happen. FYI - those same boosters are not worried about the buyout - they don't care. They also view this season as it stands now to be fool's gold.
2)After last season, any AD would give the HC latitude - you have to do that. Even if, as AD, you question the hire, there is something to be said for giving someone the rope they need to hang themselves - it's called creating accountability. Bo's buyout is not an issue.
3)Tigerbaitlawyer's comments are the most concerning to me. Currently the buck for this situation stops at O. Ultimately it rests with Woodward. A strong hand from the top is needed right now.
1 & 2 are non-issues for me. 3 will be his legacy.

There is not one AD in the country that doesn't do this after the season we had.

Even TBL doesn't know for a fact what has been said between Orgeron and Woodward. I choose to trust Scott until I am given reason not to. If the program continues to deteriorate in 2021 through Spring and Summer and nothing is done, I'll start to question Scott as well.
For now, he has proven to make sound decisions a vast majority of the time during his entire career and I believe he'll continue to do so.

Completely agree - I absolutely believe he will continue to do so also. Saying "concerning" is the fan side of me coming out. Intellectually, I do trust this will be handled appropriately but the fan in me gets impatient.

Woodward has time to keep a good legacy but he will have to start addressing things here soon
The Pellini hire is on him. People can say what they want but it’s Woodward’s hire. Some put it on O but if Woodward gave O full authority to make that hire then shame on him. Should not have been an option to hire Pelini. Pelini was well known by O and Woodward.
Mistakes Happen though. The key is how you respond to those mistakes. Let’s see how Woodward responds before tarring him.
O has some issues now that need addressing. Some could be severe title ix violations. Let’s see how Woodward handles that.
There’s time to establish a good legacy here but the window is closing. Decisions made after April 2019 are on Woodward
