With the tweet after the UF game, CTE or depression seems more plausible than weed.

Weed makes no sense.

Of all the circumstantial evidence that is available CTE or depression seems the most plausible at the moment.

Circumstantial evidence:

*The UF post game tweet.
*Coach O saying he is leaving for personal reasons.
*Left on his own accord.

Weed doesn't fit. If it was weed he would have been dismissed for breaking team rules.

With that said, best of luck Divity. Thank you for being a Tiger.

Ed also said they wouldn't close the door on him returning, that's not what you say when a player was forced to leave

It could be one to cope with the other

Something to the effect that he just couldn't do this anymore.

It was a rather depressing tweet during a very happy time. He deleted it shortly after tweeting it.

I have never heard of early onset CTE. As far as I know that is something that occurs years after one ceases to play. Depression could be plausible though.

You may be correct but I'm just trying to make sense of what is known.

Same was said about Mathieu.

I have to agree. It would be odd to be kicked off the team in this manner. It does seem like he actually left on his own for whatever reason. It sucks and I hope he's doing ok.

Vol is quoted in the stickied thread that his dismissal is similar to Mathieus...

Like you think he left because he is sad? I'm sure he's dealing with some things but that seems like speculation to me. The weed thing at least adds up.

Aaron Hernandez is one confirmed example of early-onset CTE.

The only reason you rarely hear about it is that it’s usually not diagnosed until the autopsy.

Oh. Vol is usually right.

This sucks. Big time.

Or maybe a combination of depression and/or football-related pain and trying to self-medicate? Here in Colorado, CBD and THC are readily available options that are better than opioids. When the state of Louisiana moves into the 21st century wrt legalization, these players won't have to choose between playing and pain management.

“You need to do xyz to return to playing.”

“Nah I’d rather just quit.”

Technically the players choice to leave.
