Well, if we are hiring a new Defensive Coordinator(fingers crossed), wouldn’t one assume that he would have some sort of say as to who his position coaches are going to be. It is hard for me to imagine that we would make a position coach hire before hiring a DC

Sometimes that can be figured out before the DC is brought on. There has to be alot of trust in that situation though. Other times if the position coaches are in place, it's just what it is. In this situation, there is probably at least a collaboration of hey, this is the guy we're eying to bring I'm, unless you have someone different in mind.
