A bowl win is never guaranteed. I don't hold a loss against miles. He has proven he can get his team ready for the bowls so it is not a must win. I think most expected 3 losses during the regular season this year. So I'll stick with that 9-3 season. Anything better and I will be happy.

11-2 would be a MAJOR accomplishment for a team this young. They have looked ragged at times and most likely will lose to Bama, But the rest of the schedule is manageable.

LSU has only had 10 win seasons in:

1958 (11-0) Dietzel
1961 (10-1) Dietzel
1987 (10-1-1) Archer
1996 (10-2) Dinardo
2001 (10-3) Saban
2003 (13-1) Saban
2005 (11-2) Miles
2006 (11-2) Miles
2007 (12-2) Miles

and if we do it in 2009, that will make 11 total (out of 117 seasons),

Wow! Posted again for emphasis. Thanks Ace.

Hey...I'm always happy...win or lose...if the team don't look like crap. Just compare Oregon's O with what we were seeing the first few games. They don't have better skill players; we all know it is the coaching.

Damn right I'll be happy with 11-2. Just happier, with 12-1!

win a New Year's Day bowl game to go 11-2 and end up ranked #5-7 or so, will you be satisfied?

NO!! This team supposedly has the best talent in the country. 11-2 is not acceptable.

Oregon scored 8 points in a loss to Boise. Let's not get carried away.

I think before the season started most fans would have been happy with 3 losses. Now I think they expect more than that. Still a lot of hard games ahead however.

With a sophmore QB, 11 wins is unheard of. Imagine the next two years.

Absolutely. I predicted a 9-3 year, and I think that is still very possible, so 11-2 would be successful to me especially if we continue to progress.

I ain't gonna lie, the way we played up to the Auburn game was not acceptable to me and you can state our record all you want but none of the teams we beat were above 33 in the power rankings and we just flat out were not utilizing the talent we had well.

But the last couple of games have given me more hope and 11-2 would exceed my preseason expectations, so how could I not consider that successful.

Dinardo was undefeated in bowls so I don't think that's the litmus test for coaches, and Miles did lose a couple at Okie State so it's no garauntee we win just because Miles hasn't lost a bowl game here yet.

I think if we get a favorable matchup in a bowl game we win, and I think that every matchup we've had after the Texas matchup in the Cotten in 2002 has been favorable.
