Will we see a shift to a 3-4 base defense at LSU for a couple of years?

I think maybe this could maximize the production from the talent on our team. We’ve signed quite a few LB’s and only a few DL. Maason Smith and Savion Jones could play DE in a 3-4.

Maybe we could use one of the huge OL that we have coming in to man the NT position, which is critical in a 3-4 defense.

We should have plenty of linebackers to fill up the 4 LB spots after this recruiting class.

We've been a 3-4 since Aranda got here save for '20 and '21.

Someone much more technical then myself can correct me, but I thought we run a 3-4. 3 down line (Wingo, mason, jones), with standing obi/ swinson as rush backer. We typically only have 2 set linebackers, and Perkins as that rover role.

Kids coming in. Cobbins is Perkins role, singleton is brooks role, keys and Atkins are the set lbs roles. Shone is mason and guillory depth. Reliford is jones depth.

Where exactly do you think he plays now?

Jesus Christ. You can't be this stupid. This has to be some annoying schtick at this point.

Depends on who DC is whether it’s House staying or a new guy

Breaux could be moved inside long-term if he bulks up.

We were a 4-3 this season.

We played more like a base 0-0-0.

We switched to 4-3 with Pelini I believe. IDK wtf House runs tbh.

I much rather a 4-3, bit we've been more of a 3-4 defense for years. Everything is pretty much a hybrid anyway. Honestly, it might be in our best interest next year to figure out some sort of 3-5-3 which doesn't exist and I have no idea if it could even work.

You don’t just stick a guy at NT in the SEC because he’s a big body. Our defense would easily be worse than this year

We moved to one in-season, maybe when Pete got here. But House has run a 3-4 base since he got here. It's why he has a "Jack" LB that stands up.

Exactly I think we need to build a defense out of the best players available not try and match players to defensive scheme.

We have the talent at multiple positions feel like we are not always putting the best guys in position or at the same time

That wasn’t just a 4-3. It was an attacking 4-3.

I was thinking about it and I think it could be done. I have no idea how effective it would be.

I’m pretty sure we were a 3-4. Perkins was the Jack most of the time after the first few games where they had him as the Mike I believe.
I’d have to go back and watch, but I’m fairly confident we were a 3-4 all season.

Cobbins is Perkins role,

Singleton will play in Perkins roll as the rover. Cobbins is more of your standard OLB.
