Why suspend him when there is no investigation? It's cowering at the NCAA at best
because the tapes exist.

If that’s the stance they should’ve done that back in October when the news broke.

The timing of the suspension is absolutely at the feet of the administration.

Sure. But it doesn't appear Wade is doing anything to help anyone but himself. This whole fiasco is something he's brought on and his supervisors absolutely have the right to know what occurred

Alleva and King could learn a thing or two about leadership from that man.

Has anyone heard from the other side? The family? Others around them?

We keep hearing about WW but I have yet to see a report or some reporter stalking out the family for a "scoop"

Yes.

This isn't going to wind up in some lack of institutional control violation if Wade coaches another month.

Again, there is no practical reason for the admin to force this issue right now. Like others have said "We're handling it internally" and go on about March.

Pirate King is weird. He'll sell Wade down the river any chance he gets but he'll be dead in the ground before he ever criticizes the football coach.

Sure. If Wade did lie to them how are they supposed to know even worse isn't going to come out?

This happens in the workplace too.

LOIC. They have an obligation under NCAA bylaws to investigate potential infractions as soon as they are made known to them. If their stance is Wade lied to them after the first story was released, then they had an obligation to investigate it further once the new information was released yesterday. If Wade then refused to speak with them and they did nothing in response, it makes the LSU admin look like they don't care about investigating the matter. So if Wade's stance is to play the silent game to protect his own arse (which is fine), then LSU needs to separate themselves from him. A suspension is something that can be done instantly, firing someone isn't so this is the best they can do for today. Some may say the damage is done, but if we have a coach on a recording talking about paying players, that is the quickest way to an LOIC. Anything LSU can do to try to mitigate that is something they 100% have to do for the sake of the program right now, regardless of how much it upsets some of the fanbase.

You're way too emotionally triggered by this situation to think rationally and dismiss any rational responses so there really is no point talking to you. The reasons have been spelled out all afternoon. If you choose to disagree with them, well that's on you, pal

Hunt Palmer said that Wade was suspended because he was called to a meeting with King and Alleva and upon the advice of his lawyers he didnt show. Because of this they suspended.

Without the full transcript of the recordings, there are no facts or truth right now regarding the conversations.

I could piecemeal quotes from posts here and drive a narrative that ends with a conclusion that is completely my choosing.

I'm not surprised at all by the timing of the releases, nor the parties involved. There are agendas involved by everyone in this situation. That includes Wade, but also Dawkins counsel, Forde, LSU admin, and all media opinions that have chimed in. Let alone fans, etc.

And I'm biased as well. If it were another school I disliked, I'd be laughing my arse off. I would still want the decision of actions to be based from fact and not innuendo, assertion or speculation.

Evidently Wade hasn't told them everything that happened.

That's his problem right now

Sanctions. Like the dreaded lack of institutional control.
