I think it's a tactical mistake to discuss this on Wade's part.

What good could possibly come of it? And, honestly, NOBODY is really talking about this anymore relative to a few months ago.

Heading into the tournament, this simply shouldn't be important enough to give it ANY attention.

I agree. He probably should have just said that Vitale told him he wouldn't bring it up and just moved on or said he just wanted to focus on his team and the present. People already know Vitale is full of it.

You think the graphic wasn't made prior to that moment?

I GUARANTEE Dickie V. and the producers discussed this in the week leading up to the tournament.

They waited till the championship game to bring it up. Classless, dick move. Pun intended.

Vitale wants to be the mafia boss of basketball. Slamming wade, interfering in our recruiting and daddy Dale crap. Too much. Glad his audience is 70t.

to be kinda fair.........it wasn't dick that brought it up initially. however, when reece (i think) did, he certainly bumped his gums about it for a few minutes.

C'mon man...there was a graphic waiting to be shown it was well pre-planned. Ravich is the play-by-play guy and the truck told him to intro it....But you can bet your sweet arse Dick suggested and pushed it being put on air....absolutely no doubt. I mean does anyone doubt that given the history of this and all involved?

I have said it before but we need to move the attack onto the V foundation. Put them in the spotlight and make them cut dickie v off. it honestly shouldn't be too hard in the cancel culture world.

Great idea. We're struggling with PR, so let's attack cancer research funded in the name of one of the most popular coaches ever.

Thankfully someone has the balls to stand up.
I've finally become a Jordy fan.
Why should a loud mouth "arse" be allowed to spread BS with no rebuttal.
Expose Dickie V for what he is.

And they got rid of the savvy PR guy Munson to hire someone with 5 last names for a diversity post with no defined duties. Brilliant.

What person and post are you referencing?

You say that as if Pat Forde, Ross Dellenger, Dan Wolken, Pete Thamel, etc don’t have their articles slamming Wade queued up and ready to go. This wasn’t going to stay hidden just by Culotta/Wade ignoring Vitale.

Point is, "He promised me he wouldn't call me a cheater," is not an actual defense to being a cheater. It's the kind of obfuscation this board excoriates trial lawyers for. "Look over there, not over here!"

Also, the idea that the press should promise to say or not say something regarding a government actor is totally antithetical to the First Amendment. It's basically the second highest paid state employee trying to exercise prior restraint.

Yeah...that is literally their job. To be in the media as much as possible.

That's like saying, "That salesman is such a sales whore, like every other schmuck in sales."

Will Wade has no power over anyone in the press. On the other hand, Woodward has the ability to fire Coach O.

No, they are just suggesting him bringing it up again, while not really addressing the actual situation, doesn't help. He's just calling more attention to the fact that he almost certainly cheated and can't get caught for it.

Obviously, because Vitale didn't do what Wade wanted. Still, a government actor pressuring the media not to talk about something, then getting pissed when they do, is literally why our founders added 1A to the Constitution.

Not over political speech.

It's not an analogy. It's exactly what happened.

Also, there's a 50/50 chance Vitale is so senile he didn't remember the conversation with FWW.

Dickie V needs to hang it up . His act has been tired for years now . I would listen to Blotter Acid Bill Walton all day long . He is the new king of doing TV college games . Even Bill Rafferty with his "mantoman" has gottne really annoying
