So far so good with Will Wade. Dude is injecting some serious life into this team.

Not unusual with a coaching change, especially when the change is from a low-energy failing coach to a high-energy coach. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen when we eventually fire Mainieri.

Seriously, talk is cheap, and its exciting to get a young, energetic guy in here to coach hoops; but for one reason or another our basketball hires have been failures under Joe Alleva.
Well, look at this Debbie Downer

Absolutely love it - We've got ourselves a real life basketball coach.
Not just a People Pleaser
Not just a Situational Motivator
Not just a Players Coach
Not just a Good Relationship Guy
Not just an All Around Nice Guy
A Real-Life Basketball Coach!

He has GOT to learn how to defend without fouling, that's his biggest weakness to me.
To me that is merely a symptom of the real challenge for Elbert, which is he can't really move fast enough for this level. His feet can't get there in time so he must compensate by reaching, grabbing, bumping, etc.
There are exercises that can be done to improve foot speed and lateral quickness a little, but only so much can be done, and at this point I think Elbert has probably done all he could.

And accountability, which starts at the top. Wade expects it every day, so he gives it every day.

I'm not going to fall over because the coach is saying the right things, John Brady said the right things; and his tenure was a roller coaster. I'm going to wait and see, but so far so good.
Was about to post same comment. This program is in far better shape than what Brady inherited and Wade is not facing draconian sanctions.
Wade seems more interested in developing the program externally as well as internally. Brady believed the ends justified the means and you are what your record says you are. He stepped on a few too many toes and his successes did not protect him.
Wade has a great opportunity to be the right man at the right time in the ?Dale Brown mode. Build an SEC contender, challenge Kentucky for the top of the hill, Calipari leaves or retires and its wide open again. As we have seen the Cal one and done can only go so far and a solid program can hang with them over a few years . Billly D and Florida proved that.

Sampson? Really?
Look, it is complete speculation as to what players Wade is talking about. I think people assume he's talking about guys like Robinson and/or Patterson just because of their general demeanor on the court. Who knows what they are like in practice? Patterson is a guy who played significant minutes on a few really talented teams. He was an underrated big shot maker his freshman year. He fell off a bit in his Soph season and then last year was just a disaster for everyone as the entire team had basically quit on Jones.
To me, Sampson is a guy who, while seemingly very talented, has kind of done his own thing on the court and not necessarily seemed like someone interested in meshing with the team. There were more than a few times last year when he basically just took the ball and tried to do something on his own, resulting in a turnover.
He's a guy that came in highly decorated. With Blakeney gone, he's arguably the most talented guy on the roster. Yet, he's had a relatively quiet first two years at LSU. Highly recruited guys don't envision themselves coming in and being "just another guy on the team." He probably figured he'd be one of, if not the star of the team now. The thing is he's not a Wade recruit. He hasn't performed at a high enough level to earn special treatment and Wade isn't going to give it to him. All these guys are basically starting at the same place with the new staff. There are no recruiting promises these coaches feel they have to keep.
If Sampson buys in (hopefully he's one of the guys who has) he could easily be the best player on the team and an all SEC contender.

We got rid of boring les miles and johnny jones. We replaced them with high energy guys in coach O and Will Wade. Now if we can get rid of the boring baseball coach.

I refuse to live in a world where the Tuba can be a serviceable SEC player, and a guy like Robinson has done all he can.

I will note that for all of Johnny's faults of which there are many, he gave Kentucky what for undergunned for his entire tenure here.

I know in your head you thought that sounded clever and a sign of your self-perceived rapier-like wit.
Let me tell you the truth: it was lame and a sure indicator that you are a dumbass.

Was really hoping Samson was one of the guys that would buy in.

Wade said in lake Charles that a post player was working out 3-4 times a day and needed to lose 100 pounds. sounds like elbert is buying in.

Unless he's putting Epps in the post and wants him to weigh 14 pounds
