He was on at 5:30 and I was only able to catch the first few minutes. He was talking about improving 3 point, transition and ball screen defense. He wants it to seem like there are 6 defenders out there. Can't express how much I love this guy and hearing him say this. Did anyone catch what he said after?

Did not hear the show but it's nice to hear a basketball coach talk about basketball 3 point screens defense and help side defense.

He mentioned that last season LSU had the second worst statstical defense of any Power 5 conference team in the last 15 years (as far back as they have data).
Only one worse was the BC team that went 0-fer in the ACC a few years ago.

Saw him mention Sampson in a previous interview as well, said he's buying in. I have high hopes for BS next season, could thrive with some structure.

It would be pretty hard to not improve 3 point defense. Our 3 point defense seemed to defy the law of averages.

LOL. Wade has done more in a couple months than jj did in years. This is gonna show you what a huge difference a good coach makes, and quickly. We are going to see drastic improvements on the court in his first year, I'm expecting it. We got a good one finally.

Of course we already knew a lot of the things that have been said in the thread. It's just refreshing to hear the coach actually talk basketball instead of effort and saying the players do a tremendous job at everything even though they weren't. I swear it seemed like the previous coach thought that the team sucked just because there was a lack of effort, not coaching.

This is great news. I hope we improve in free throws, as well. That can make a huge difference in the final few minutes of a game.

Any reason why he was pointing out Sampson? Was he on the fence about staying and playing for wade
