Kind of hilarious that McMahon recruited all of those players. Maybe you know, he can recruit better players but of course it's the players who suck and McMahon obviously can't control that, despite him being the one who got all those shitty players to come to LSU.

I rest my case! Kinda hilarious that you would believe anyone could have gotten better players to come to LSU, given the circumstances. Try more fish; they say it’s good for the brain!

Can't agree more. Patience is going to be a HUGE virtue here. Cutting bait too early will only set the program back even further. One is a total idiot if you didn't know this year was going to be a dumpster fire.

I say give him at least 3....MAYBE 4 years.

Take Vandy for example. Stackhouse would have been run out of town here after 2 years. Look at his team's improvement.

Bottom line, let's see what the guy can do with 2-3 classes under his belt before putting For Sale signs in his lawn.

Shills and bots both exist.

Something a shill or bot would say. Did LSU AD create a bot to shill?

Never mind, it's LSU. (I joke)

Exactly, do they practice shooting? Mizzou has four transfers from Cleveland St. and one of their returning players shot 24% last year and is shooting 48% this year and they are going to the tourney. Meanwhile our most talented player on paper Adam Miller's shooting stat now compared to his frosh year at Illinois are worse.

If a coach can do nothing to help players get better what's he in the business for?

Look I've said all along the talent may not be all that great and we can still underachieve - both can be true. That IMHO is what we are seeing now.

I want CMM to succeed, but the first year has been rough.

A coach can help a player work to get open shots but he can’t make those shots for him. If a player is not shooting well, he needs be working on that outside of team practice. Teams are limited to a certain number of hours per week with the coaches, but basketball is the easiest sport to practice your trade alone. Is it being done? Results would say ‘no’.

He’s a head coach, not a shooting coach! Hell, they can hardly make layups. They’re young, so defense is a problem, no matter how good the coaching is. However, on the court, they have to put the ball THROUGH the basketball. Best coach in the world can’t help with that. Conversely, you could easily coach Duke tomorrow, and have a great season. LSU does not have the players at this time to be competitive in the SEC. They have Freshmen who need development, but need to rebuild through recruiting and/or the portal. MM is not the problem!

but coaches can give them drills and specifics to practice....happens all the time ever day in every program I would think.

If the coach is giving them these drills, etc. to do and they are not working on these on their own time...then the issue is even bigger...not listening to or respecting the coach.

And you know he’s not? Besides, that would be off-season type of work. I’m talking about going to the gym on their own time to work on their shooting. If they’re doing that and still can’t make baskets, that’s a talent issue. If they aren’t, that’s a desire issue.

At some point the players have to take some accountability here. There’s an old saying that head coaches get too much credit for winning and too much blame for losing. No one here wants to accept it but it’s usually true.
