Should Hubert Davis at UNC be fired too? National Championship runners-up last year and returned basically the whole team … now there’re middle of the pack in the ACC. Is he a bad coach? Did he suddenly forget how to coach? shite happens that may not be obvious to the fans. McMahon deserves a chance to right the ship.

Winning 30 games in the Ohio Valley Conference is not an indicator of success in the SEC. Drastic difference in talent. He was good at coaching mid-major level talent and against mid-major opponents. But he is in over his head and looks clueless now. It was too big of a jump.

The reason keeping Wade wasn't an option was due to the fact Woodward had to help out in law Emmert in the public relations department. In case no one remembers, he has been CRUCIFIED over the years in the press.
I don't know this for a fact, but I do know this. It's the only thing that makes sense.
What's so ironic about this is that throughout the Wade "saga" with the NCAA, I thought Emmert was Scott's ace in the hole to help LSU skate with a slap on the wrist. I truly believe that family tie was the nail in the coffin for the best coach we have had since Dale.
I don't know this for a fact, but I do know this. It's the only thing that makes sense.

In my lifetime— 4 times LSU basketball has generated excitement— (1) when Pistol Pete played; (2) Dale Brown teams a handful of years; (3) John Brady circa 2006; and (4) the brief time WW was coach. None of them are coming back. I was hopeful when MM was hired. I am discouraged by the product on the court (and I’ve been to every home game). Because of the product MM’s seat has gotten HOT very quickly. Next year is a critical year in his tenure or he will quickly be on the list of “NOT COMING BACK”. At this rate I’d be surprised if he gets to Year 4 of his contract. Like it or not, he is here through year 3.

Damn, I must have missed where we had a roster full of McDonalds all-Americans that were underperforming. I also missed where our whole roster returned from a run to the championship game.

My comments have 0 to do with Wade and more to do with what we're seeing in the present. I've said before I acknowledge he wasn't handed a stacked deck, but what we're seeing on the court every night is not acceptable. Being solely in last place in the SEC and getting blown out almost every night is unacceptable. Playing a team at home in the 200s in the NET and trail wire to wire and lose by double digits is not acceptable. Maybe by your small standards that's ok. He wasn't handed a team of MAAs but he wasn't handed a D2 roster either, but they're playing like it, and that falls on the coach. Sorry if that's difficult for you to grasp.

No complaining about an empty PMAC and no fan support for MBB as fans who want to watch a competent program during basketball season decide to ignore MBB and go fill the stands for WBB and baseball instead.

I was a Wade guy, he’s gone. I honestly tried to be a MM guy but really?!? The only thing here is he can’t go anywhere but up because in my viewing of 40yrs of basketball this is the absolute floor level, matter of fact we’re in the cellar literally.

Coach Jones was getting TSU to the tourney at the same time Wade was getting LSU. Of course, LSU has 100x the resources of TSU. Wade is not 1/200th as great as you fan boys want to believe.
