Think I read something a couple of years ago that the FBI wiretap wasn’t introduced into evidence in the trial and that the NCAA can only use actual evidence in a case. It might’ve changed but if not then the NCAA’s got nothing.

NCAA is playing a waiting game. The NCAA is taking the approach that LSU will not renew or extend his contract while under investigation. NCAA is hoping he leaves LSU and then it will issue some minor NOA and move on.
I hope LSU has the fortitude to extend Wade under similar terms he has now regarding for cause termination and give the middle finger to the NCAA, just Kansas did with Bill Self. However, I'm getting concerned that is not going to happen since football is also tied to the investigation.

No, I mean the sheep that worship the guy to the point they think the NCAA is going to walk away on this one and say “nope, didn’t find anything, you’re free to go”.
I think at a bare minimum, we’re going to get a postseason ban for at least one year and loss of scholarships, Wade could very well get a show cause and be fired. The fact that football is wrapped up in this is bad too. We better hope they don’t tag us with lack of institutional control.

A one year postseason ban would be completely worth it at any rate. We went from an 11-20 team to top 3 in the SEC and consistent NCAA tournament participant. The NCAA could gut LSU basketball for 3 years and it would still have been better than the Johnny Jones coaching staff experience.

It’s interesting that the most vocal Orgeron supporters have always been so anti Will Wade.
Hopefully some of them will fade away once a new football coach is announced.
