Will Wade: "I'm worried we're not going to be able to put up as many points as our football team."
#LSU football is averaging 52.5 points per game.
Obviously this is a joking remark by Wade, but I would hope we put up more points than our football team is currently. This is more a testimony to how well our football team and offense is doing. Expect big play from our basketball team! Repeat SEC Champs! Love that Wade is buying into LSU as a whole. Bright Future for all of LSU Athletics. Geaux Tigers.

Yes, it was a very obvious tongue in cheek comment meant more to give praise to the FB team. Not long after he said this, he then said that this year’s team is an elite offensive team and that he expects them to avg more points than what they did last year.
Offense under Wade has not been an issue at all. Hell, his first season here they were like a top 3 offensive team in SEC. It will be about defense and rebounding that will dictate how successful this year’s team can be.

I agree. Losing Bigby will hurt our defense. But Emmitt should be a dominant force this year. And I heard the new freshman is pretty good defensively as well. Hopefully we can create some turnovers with out Waters.

It’s not pandering to acknowledge the accomplishments of another bordering on elite program at your university. This was Wade’s way of saying, “I see you football. We’re coming too.”
I don’t remember this confidence and respect for other athletic programs under JJ.
But his tenure was completely forgettable so maybe he did something similar. I don’t know.

Wade has said in the past that his favorite sport to watch is college football. He's an execution and numbers person, so he must love watching the LSU offense in football.

That and he is an elite competitor. On some level I’m sure watching the success of football gets him fired up and motivated to have the same success.
