Agreed. And ultimately, if we get the type of season that most on here believe we can have, then the hype will only continue to build into coming seasons.
I just wish the students would get back involved. And yes, I agree, where they moved the students to in the PMAC sucks and has played a part in it; but there are other schools where the students still attend the games in good numbers and get into the games even though their section is on the baseline. I'm not usually one of the "back in my day" types; but I will say that I enjoyed the basketball games as much as, and sometimes more than, the football games as a student in the early 2000's. I still remember camping out on the ramp for the Saturday morning LSU/UK game in Feb. 2000. That game was insane in the student section.

Hahahah he’s still mad about that NIT game where our mediocre team beat their best team ever.

Doubt that Ben Simmons is interested.

No. He wouldn't. Not at all. Simmons had absolutely no interest in the college experience.

Are people thinking making the NCAA tournament is the floor this year?
Posted on 7/31/18 at 5:53 pm to Brazos
Missing the tournament would be a massive disappointment. I’ve heard the coaches are really excited about where they are
Posted on 7/31/18 at 5:53 pm to Brazos
Something catastrophic would have to happen for them to not make the tournament. My expectation is at least the round of 32, if not the sweet 16.

Believe this...when we start winning big, they will come. And we're gonna win big.

Yep went out and recruited a phenomenal class even with the program down. It’s great to see what a great coach can do. I can’t wait for the season

Yes
When Wade took over just 15 months ago, the consensus of most was year one to install a foundation and culture (just see a change in play), year two make the NIT, and year three the tournament should be possible. But here we stand over one year ahead of schedule. And yes, this team should make the tournament. Do they have the talent to go beyond the first round? Sure they do. I also think they at least make the Sweet 16; but I’m not going to be upset if they don’t.

Think we'll make Sweet 16, maybe final 8. Wade's that good.

He's an outstanding tactician. Very well respected.

Some coaches are good X's and O's guys, some are good motivators, others good at roster management. I know it was just one year, but this guy seems to excel at all facets of coaching the game.

He really does excel in all those aspects, you're right. He's involved in strategic planning of every single detail of his program. It's incredible.
There was a really good article a while back about how he uses biometrics/technology in practice to enhance player development.
Player development is an area that doesn't get much mention bc of his recruiting prowess, but he's as good as you'll find at development and evaluation as well.

I don’t disagree. And I also am hopeful that we can make as deep a run as possible; and I think we have the talent and coaching to go far. But I also want people to keep some perspective that this is just year 2 and every year there are talented and well coached teams that don’t go as far as they maybe could or should. Once you get in the tournament, you also need some experience and lucky breaks to go your way. Unfortunately, we won’t really have much in the way of experience as none of our players will have been to tournament before and the bulk of our talent will be young.
