Thompson and Milazzo both should work on bunting.

Why?

The weather in the finals won’t call for bunting.

Maybe cheer for a different team. LSU never makes it to the finals without Thompson at SS and he has had a lot of big hits this year.

He slumped at the wrong time, but he is due to get out of it.

He had one good AB where he took more than one pitch before getting an out. As far as being due, he needs to get smart about swinging on the first pitch. At least get the pitch count to 5 and if you don't get on base, you've done something to help the team.

That's completely false.

He's a great defensive shortstop, who has displayed that a few times in the postseason.

And before people forget: Johnson also considers him the best defensive 2nd baseman on the team. Nobody really takes that into consideration, but LSU doesn't actually "shift" the infield in a crazy way like others do. Instead, they stick Thompson at 2nd if they think the ball is going to the right. And it's not a whole game, it's back and forth whenever the need arises. I wouldn't be surprised if he moves to 3rd in bunting situations like last night, if they haven't already done that.

That's not garbage, that's your best righthanded infielder.

One thing I've learned about him is that when you count him out, he's gonna get back up and deliver. If people watched all of last season, then all of this season, they would realize this.
It's unfair that people are focusing on this stretch, because they didn't pay attention until now.
He's a BIG reason this team is here
