I was optimistic, preferring to believe somehow we would go undefeated, win the national championship and JJ would win the Heisman that escaped Ryan Perilloux. However, JJ blew it and brought the whole team down with him like Ryan Perilloux. When all is said and done, I'm thinking we'll be lucky to be 6-7. Tiger Stadium will be half empty for Arkansas and that means the coach must finally geaux. Even if 22 players are suspended, they'll still be competitive, but there's a tremendous learning curve in the SEC that only experience can teach. WE BARELY BEAT TENNESSEE LAST YEAR AT HOME!!!! Tigers will take the Vols, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas for granted. Oregon has the best players money can buy now that Cam left. If JJ is suspended or sent packing to Jacksonville State (see Ryan Perilloux) then Jarrett Lee will get the nod from the head coach instead of Mett because of seniority. Does anyone want to watch "Pick 6 Lee part II.'' Then, injuries are always a big part of the season. We always seem to lose a huge name on the defensive and offensive lines each year. Losing Sam Montgomery was devastating last year. Also, we are on probation, so if more violations are discovered or enforced (Russell Shepherd), the golden era of LSU football will be over. Hold off on adding those 20,000 extra seats TAF!!!!!! JJ ruined it and those who follow him.

Whether he played 5 snaps or 500 snaps he had PT in the SEC and he played behind Tebow and learned from Meyers... Love them or hate them they were all winners... Not saying Mett can't come in and be all the way lights out I just think back to when Lee got thrown out there and it was not pretty!! And wasn't Lee supposed to be all that coming out of HS??

So wait, you'll give Scam props for spending a year in the SEC basically only learning from other coaches since his total passing yards were 40 when he played at UF, but you won't give it to Mett at a school that just produced Stafford? And JL was a freshman when he was asked to play and has confidence issues, something I can't guarantee but believe Mett won't have. Besides, the guy just took his team to the NC, he's got the skills.

Tl:dr.

But looks like you were whining a lot. This actually helps us with our chances for an NC. Less questions at QB, less pouty faces when JJ obviously makes a mistake, and now the players are going to come together, unlike with RP. Why? Because RP got special treatment which people resented. JJ will be dealt with swiftly.

LSU will not crumble from this, 22 players will not be suspended Either BTW, and no I'm not saying mett doesn't have skills man but until you step under SEC lights you don't know how it's going to go down bro seriously... I do hope the best out of all this though and I hope were a team that can really pull together and have a special year... No more bars for this team though Miles should have them
walking a straight line from now on...

Did you just call me bro? And anyway, we are a defensive team who will be run heavy. We have a guy who only needs to manage, not be a hero. We have that.

It can go North or South. It speaks directly to what kind of leadership is on this team when adversity hits. If this is going to be a special year we need to get out of the gate fast. A loss to Oregon could put things in the wrong direction fast.

This.....Our leadership has failed and brought some 20 other players with him to some degree. The next leader needs to take this great opportunity more serious than the last one.

Miles will have to take control of the situation (which he's done pretty admirably so far), and the players will have to unite and the backups step up their game a notch. The Seniors who aren't involved will have to become better leaders. If all that happens, then we've still got a chance for a great year.

Cause a QB plays 4 years later exactly how he played as a RS freshmen getting thrown in the fire too early because of injuries and RP.

Hint:

Put together one of the best seasons for a freshman quarterback in LSU history, throwing for over 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2008

What leadership was JJ really giving the team? I've never met the kid, but from the way he acted on the sidelines I can't imagine he was an awesome leader. He seemed to always be pouting or yelling. I just don't see how this really hurts us.

Optimistically, JL comes in and lights up defenses and we go on to win the championship and then they make the movie Rudy II about the JL story of overcoming adversity and perservering

without saying anyone involved is guilty or not, IF jefferson is not the qb, i will say this.

to get through an sec schedule, and the season as a whole, you will face adversity, and lots of it. i hope the things that lee has faced in his entire career....being thrown in too early, pick 6 season, fans booing, him being rumored to transfer after 2 different seasons, him coming in to save a few games, him looking average or below average in other games...i hope all of this has made the character of a man ready to lead.

just like i think miles was a good fit for our situation with the hurricanes in '05, i think lee will be the one to lead them in '11, if this is what happens. and mett to get some needed PT here and there.

lets hope whoever the qb is, we just win games.

it shows we never had a chance because aparently no one stepped up to fill pp7, kelvin sheppard and drake nevis's roles as leaders.
