Will Shaq and Fournette be the two best LSU athletes never to compete for an NC?

Two phenomenal athletes yet Fournette never had a shot at an SEC or National Champeenship. Same with Shaq. Never got to final four although if I remember right, we shared an SEC title with MSU. Meanwhile, teams with other big mean such as Georgetown and Houston managed to make it to several final fours.

Patrick Peterson should be in the discussion.

He would have competed for one here if the refs would not have been paid off

don't believe that. Ben is a baller, has grown quite a bit but still handling the rock... he is a perfect mold with the team he is on to be a top player

Both Ben Simmons and Fournette were over-hyped by the AD and TD as individual players ... "generational" talent blah blah blah

Fournette probably was the best player to play for LSU. Does that mean he should carry the ball 30 times every single game? No.

Simmons will most likely be an all star in the NBA. Did we really need the "He's Coming" billboards? Reality show? no.

It's almost a religious thing. People treated Pete Maravich like he was Elvis. Maravich probably deserved it because outside of Kentucky - no player in the SEC had ever been nearly that good before. But Fournette, Simmons? Way overblown. Phenomenal players - great to watch, but they were both over-hyped. Fournette was great but Bo Jackson was better, played better in big games. Hershel Walker might have been better too.

At some point you just have to chill with all the hype and let the players play.

Wtf Fournette and Simmons in the same sentence. Fournette showed his talent and bled purple and gold. Simmons was overhyped and LSU were just letters on his jersey. Fournette will be a star and Simmons a flop in their professional careers.

LF carried the ball over 25 times only nine times in 32 games as a Tiger, with only two of those going for 30, both wins btw.

In fact, LF only had 20 carries in 14 games, less than half, with LSU going 11-3 in those games.

So, I guess what I'm saying is...

I wish that were true but unfortunately Fournette plays with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's on the Marshall Faulk, LaDamanian Tomlinson, Barry Sanders, Eric Dickerson track.

Simmons is playing with 2 other lottery picks in Philly. Much better chance at success.
