Fairly sure his mom has been in the loop on these hires from the get go and I very much assume calls will be made (if they haven't already).

Absolutely - not saying consult - but if the hire you believe is best could have a positive impact on recruits, player retention, whatever I would think it wise to keep those players in the loop.

He was the highest rated TE in college history. Believe it or not he was a big part of our offense. He could play even a bigger role in 2021.

Did he quit on his team? Yes. Is he “soft”? Most likely. Would I take him back in a heartbeat because he’s an incredible talent that could help bring us back to the table in 2021? Absolutely.
