What was alabamas defense ranked prior to losing to LSU?

quote:

A big reason for the separation is Alabama’s 86.3 defensive rating, which ranks sixth in the country,

This is prior to LSU winning on the road at Alabama.

LSU will always have to beat the next 'elite' team and even then I wonder if they receive their due acclaim.

OSU is incredible this year. The way they play on both ends of the field is something else. I think this team could go down as one of the greatest all time. They should jump us, but honestly that is my preferred outcome so that we can get a chance to play Clemson in the 2-3 matchup.

Honestly don’t care, as long as we are actually in the CFP at long last. As long as we win out LSU will be either #1 or 2. I wouldn’t mind beating the brakes off Clemson either before the Burrow Bowl with Ohio State.

That would be a program defining run and signify a shite in the CFB landscape

I’m sure discussed but couldn’t find. Anyway say both team clean up their schedule with wins.
LSU has Arkansas, A&M, Georgia
Ohio State has Penn State, Michigan, and winner of the Minnesota/ Wisconsin game

I think they do unfortunately because all those teams are quality ranked teams.
Long way to go

I think OSU needs to lose one and we'll have the top spot locked. Its possible. Penn St and Mich really hate them and Harbaugh NEEDS this win over OSU.

When you only have 2-3 huge games in the regular season (or in Clemson’s case, zero) and not 4-5, you can put up gaudy numbers in raw stats. It affects the advanced metrics too because you are avoiding the emotional ups and downs that playing this schedule gives us. LSU does not have the best defense in the country, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be #1 if we are 13-0 on selection day. Nobody else’s resume will come close.

Week by week is virtually meaningless.

Why chase bs?

Win the next 3, UGA included, and we are sealed in to #1.

It does matter

It’s a difference of playing in Atlanta against a much weaker #4 first game or traveling out west to play a much tougher opponent.

Fans would travel much better to Atlanta as well, IMO

I think the committee wants ohio state in the final. There’s one hitch. Ohio state needs to win out and if they get matched against us, they won’t.

I predict that we’ll be number 2 behind ohio st and that’s how it’s going to end up with the final being 1 vs 2 in the superdome
