I haven’t seen his name mentioned much as a possible replacement for bo. As a dc he was aggressive which o likes and he is an excellent recruiter. Being that he is getting his buyout money he probably wouldn’t demand a high salary..

Honestly, who knows If these badass DCs from 10ish years ago can still succeed?

Pelini might be proof they can’t

Not this shite again. We need a CURRENTLY PROVEN DC or someone young and innovative. Not yet another failed HC.

If this is the case, then him and O may be shown the door together if they don't do a complete 360 next year.

Wouldn’t that be the case regardless of who he hires or doesn’t hire?

No retreads, go get a young DC under 40. Grew up and cut his teeth defending the modern spread passing game. Two guys I think O should interview, Marcus Freeman from Cincinnati and Jim Leonard from Wisconsin, who played there and may be harder to get and he runs the same 3-4 scheme at Wisconsin that Aranda ran there and ran here.

Well, if he gets rid of Pelini this year, they couldn't possibly be fired together next year. I'm just working under the assumption that the defense will show at least some improvement next year with a new DC, simply because it has nowhere to go but up.

I think if LSU wins 9 games next year, plus shows improvements on the defense, he wouldn't be fired. It would set up a prove it season the following year though.

No
No
No

He always overrated and made his name riding Sabans coattails.

The LAST thing we need is another overrated, washed up re-tread.

What we do need is the defensive equivalent of Joe Brady.

Shouldn’t it be a 180? A 360 would put us back were we started but I agree with what you are saying

Point being, there has to be substantial improvement regardless who the DC is.

No, No, No, and No. Hiring Will Muschamp as DC is like hiring Jim McElwan as OC.

Those are 2 things you just don't do.

We need up and coming young minds that are hungry and eager for a chance to be part of this program
