re: Will Miles Wait until its too late to Bench Jefferson?

Remember this:
Lee did not lose the starting job because of his play in 2008. He never once got pulled because of his stats. He threw for 16 INTs and 13 TDs that year. He threw 7 pick 6s (is that right?).
Yet, Miles did not bench him.
Jefferson did not see the field until Lee got hurt. If he let Lee make that many mistakes without at least pulling him out for a few drives, what makes you think that he'll ever bench Jefferson???
When Jefferson is laying on his back, not walking, has a broken leg, or stops breathing, Lee will get another chance.

just support your team today and quit trying to lose the game before we play it
Thanks for the advise. Don't know what you are reading into what I said. But improving the team and having a QB that plays some is better than needing him in an emergency.

Look don't misunderstand me. I want for JJ to be good enough to help his team and I know he does to. I am not saying to bench him and give JL the start. Just give him some time in the first half to see if he should be given another.

The QB situation for LSU is "Name Your Poison" You are going to die either way. Quick Death-JLee Knife to the heart JJ- death by a thousand cuts.
That may be the single funniest thing I've read on here today.

I think you misunderstood me (not sure how that's possible with my sig pic). I think that Jordan Jefferson's play has been pathetic and that he needs to sit the bench until Jarrett Lee proves he's worse.
I'm just saying that Les Miles is not going to pull Jefferson unless we are way ahead or Jefferson is hurt (which will happen at some point, since they insist on running him so much).

Don't play the guys that are busting their asses off at practice, instead play those that don't practice as hard. Is that right
No. We should have a coach maybe who can light a fire under some of them so thay can earn a spot. You are right though. Recruit hard with no knowledge that a player never practices hard so they can sit the bench. I would do the same as LM. If he sits around and doesn't try I would tell him to transfer. Hows that?

It's not always about not trying hard. Some players just perform better when the lights come on. Look at Rohan Davey. He never practiced well. He couldn't earn a starting job in practice to save his life.
But, he was a gamer. When the lights came on, he was money.

I see your point but Commoncents is right about husling in practice. I am sure there are quite a few others who hustle in practice but don't play. I am also wondering if the story about JL practicing hard in the off season counts?

Very true, and under saint Nick at that.

It will take even more than one loss before Miles starts Lee ahead of JJ. No doubt in my mind. Heck it might even take more than two losses...

Part of having players practice hard is having players earn their position. Being that Miles has just handed QBs the starting job ever since he's been here, there is not much incentive for the other QBs to take practice seriously.

One of the problems is that our backup QBs never get in tbe game. When you have a 20+ point lead in the 4th quarter, your back up should get some PT. One series with some handoffs in the last 5 minutes is not jack for experience.

When's the last time a backup QB got good experience other than a situation because of injury? 2004 with Jamarcus Russell???

That could be but JL is different. According to what we have heard from the media and I think LM's himself is that JL has practiced well and he wouldn't be worried to have to play him. So it's somewhat confusing.
I know that since our O doesn't score a lot, the game is usually close so JJ gets to stay in the entire game because he is the starter.

Absolutely, except that your starter needs the reps just as badly.

Sure the hell isn't the reason LSU has won all three.

ya'll are right though.Lee needs game time for when he is needed.Dont kid yourselves that time will arrive

This should have already been done but thanks to Les, JL has had no meaningful snaps during the first three games. It's all about coaching and preparation or in Miles case, no preparation.

Lee won't see a series when the game counts unless jefferson gets hurt. its really that simple.

This statement sums up Les Miles coaching, decisions, and player utilization the past 2 1/2 years.
