What say ye?

I sure as hell hope so. With the new ESPN contract alone, LSU has $14 million more in its coffers, so I would go pay the money and hire the best gun money could buy. Someone with a proven track record.

Tommy Bowden just became available! Maybe Miles will hire him.

I doubt it. He would have to show humility

I think it has to do more with loyalty than stubborness. Does anyone know if he has ever made changes in a coaching staff, here or at OSUsw? I doubt he will make any changes unless we lose the rest of our conference games.

If he doesn't I am going to be so not looking forward to next season.

I agree. He said that he believes the defense was well prepared at his press conference today.

Yea hopefully coachspeak. Cause our D got pushed around by Florida. I hope he realizes there is a problem. I really hate the lack of blitz.

My incredibly reliable inside sources say Steve Spurrier was shopping for houses in University Club. You know, because of their great golf course and all
Oh my bad, I just had a flashback of the 2007 coaching changes board.

When Miles got the LSU job he tried to hire a guy named George Edwards,a Lb coach at Cleveland, for the DC job, everyone thought it was a done deal, then Saban stole him at the last moment and brought him to Miami. He might be worth looking into if our hard head coach will admit there could be a problem

I think that's an open question at this point.
Just a guess, but I think going the co-coordinator route made the most sense for CLM, given the circumstances:
1. He lost his DC way, way late, and skulling around trying to poach a defensive coach from another school just a month before signing day was probably more trouble than it would have been worth because...
2. CLM guessed that the best path was to keep a defense that was losing key upperclass leaders going into 2008 would have the best chance of success by both staying w/ the existing scheme that they knew and staying w/ coaches they knew as well.
That being said, if you're looking to get a new DC, then you're also looking to scrap the existing D and take a new approach.
What would this new "approach" be, exactly? We only have to look at AU to see how removing a coordinator (or, with Sean Payton, cutting John Carney after the 2006 season) just for the sake of doing so can make a non-problem a big problem.
In other words, let's see if the players and our co-coordinators are more efficient and effective at the end of the season. They have plenty of games to work out the kinks, so to speak.

Rumor has it that Miles is taking resumes from everybody on the RANT in search for a new D.C.
He is looking for someone with the know how to take our defense to a new level--he wants to elevate the LSU defense to match the great reputation of the RANT's football-wizard brain trust.
The RANT has countless numbers of great defensive minds that have honed their defensive formations and blitz packages through years of coaching Pee-Wee leagues thoughout the state.
