if you don't like maineri, then i would stop watching baseball for awhile .. because he boosted his longevity at LSU a bit this season .. if we didn't reach the post season at all this year, then his seat would be hot for 2013 .. as it stands, he pushed the re-set button virtually back to to 2009 again .. he'd have to shite the bed three straight seasons now for his seat to heat up again ..

They should hire me as coach, I could cheat enough to ensure we at least make Omaha

Why did it only take smoke one year to get booted after making it to Omaha? So what y'all are saying is that y'all are perfectly happy with no changes in the offseason and another mediocre season hitting the ball next year if it comes to pass like that?

you'd have to outbid MLB to cheat in college baseball ..

well, if you are going to show trey the door, how do you keep arby, who is virtually the same player that was far less effective at the plate .. for starters ?

Rag, where did I say I hated mainieri and want him gone? I feel he should relieve Javi of his duties, and if he doesnt and we don't advance further then he should start feeling some heat.

I'll say CPM had a pretty terrible series, I don't know what it was but the guy just seemed off all weekend. But yeah there's no way he's on the hotseat.

He should do the right thing and ditch his boy Sanchez. Is the poor hitting 100% Javi's fault? Unlikely but it looks bad when hitting is struggling this bad and the coach in question is an inexperienced guy no one was thrilled about when you made the initial hire.

Yeah, I've thought the same thing. No upside potential, IMO.

Also, Alex Edward. How fitting was it this season ended with Edward striking out after he dropped a pop fly the inning before?

because smoke's tenure was still pretty close to the 1996, 1997, and 2000 titles as well as the 2001 super regional vs. tulane .. so the level of expectations was a bit higher .. now, what did smoke in was that you could see the recruiting going to crap .. which was turtle thomas' fault for running around california spending tens of thousands of dollars to sign classes full of top three round draft picks that never saw campus ..

maineri's class after the 2009 NC did the same thing and he is STILL feeling it .. look at this class that he just signed ... MLB didn't purge this one virtually at all ..

Lsu needs to teach kids some patience and proper approach to an at bat with 2 strikes....

Plus where is our power bat? Hell lsu has some players who should be at 10-15 homers

yeah, alex has been a disappointment .. i think it is time to take our heads out the doors of parkview baptist and dunham around here and broaden our horizons .. both of those programs are on the decline .. in fact, high school baseball around here seems to have stagnated .. skip had some great success with the catholic high pipeline for years .. and catholic high has still contributed some really good players to the program .. but, overall, it is time to stop depending on BR for players ..

Plus Smoke alienated the fans with his "I don't give a damn what you think attitude."

Twice during Coaches Committee meetings Smoke referred to LSU fans as being a necessary evil and once as the "enemy."

That didn't go over well with the people who were donating their money to the program so the head coach could have extra funds at his disposal.

yeah .. sanchez really stands out like a sore thumb now .. after this season and this weekend .. on the same field with stony brook, we looked like two ENTIRELY different programs .. even stony brook's OUTS were impressive .. that team just fricking crushes the ball .. if you had the old bats, that team would be scoring in the 20s with regularity .. last night, i heard people in the stands saying "we are making solid contact tonight .. but we are just hitting it right at people !!" .. frick, this is LSU ! not some american legion team full of 12 year olds ! ... we are making "solid contact" ??

his recruiting as a whole needs to get better. Yeah the MLB hurt his classes. Plenty of other teams within the SEC still manage to get elite players in. USC may be headed back to Omaha thanks in part to a pretty ridiculous freshmen class.

Our outfield this season was embarrassingly unathletic. Just this weekend alone how many hits did SB rob us of by running down balls while we had guys whiffing on what should have been routine plays?

he days of dominating baseball like LSU did during the Skip Bertman are long over. Some of you need to accept it. LSU shouldn't settle for mediocrity but it also shouldn't be CWS or bust either.

I guess USCe didn't get the memo on this one. Neither did UCLA who is back in Omaha or FSU who is always in Omaha it seems.

WOW ! really ?? what a dick head ...

Maineri does at least understand how important the fans are to his job .. i guess Smoke just thought the program was bigger than the fans .. wrong .. LSU baseball wouldn't be the program it is without the ridiculous fan support it has gotten since the 1985 season ..

I guess not .. there are some influential people in those rooms that had skip's ear and have alleva's ear too .. you can't alienate them .. and i can say maineri hasn't done that yet .. although not letting the players take a victory lap last weekend was maineri's first head scratcher move, fan-wise, i have seen him make ..
