I've seen him make way better throws than Randall ever did. I think I can also say he's probably much smarter than Randall as well

He did make smart decisions when it came to getting rid of ball. He also when coverage broke down and wanted to do things with his feet. Hence 9 sacks in 3 games, not to mention he did not face the best of best in SEC. He also fatigued in the second half of both Arkansas and GT game which would be a concern. I wouldhope added muscle and full season of workouts we can use a full playbook and JJ can stay healthy.
He has talent, there is no doubt about, every QB on roster has talent. They would not be at LSU if they did not.
Yet to say one player is smarter than another is rather retarded because well, were not on LSU roster. In the huddle, on the field, in the practice room. Randal had some good games while at LSU and he also had some bad ones.

he did go from completing 48% as a SOPH to 63% his JR and SR years, which isnt bad.
but he threw a shite load of wounded ducks.
if JJ makes that kind of progress as far as completing passes, cuts down on taking sacks, then we'll win the SEC west next year
