If I recall, our 2000 team was sucking eggs in the sweet 16 played in Utah that year. I don’t think we hit 50 points that game.

Probably. I visited Colorado when I was 13 and it was an issue for me.

This is when those early morning Will Wade workouts in the off season come in handy.

We've never won a game ever in elevation over 2,000 feet I believe.

LSU went to Utah early to acclimate.

They have the technology to train for elevation in BR but what is one well going to accomplish?

I’m hoping that the 10 minute quarters help with Edwards & Onuwasor stepping up off the bench? After I read the injury report on the starters, it will be more than the elevation causing challenges.

LSU played in Utah again Southeast Missouri and then played Texas to advance to the Sweet 16. No, Wisconsin hammered our arse and we didn't get above 50 points... But that was not in Utah

It will be an issue and it takes more than a couple of days to fully acclimate

Why elevation won’t be deciding factor in LSU’s NIT game at Utah
quote:

Salt Lake City is located in the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, some 4,226 feet above sea level. Baton Rouge is a mere 56 feet above sea level.

Scientifically speaking, Wade’s right. Altitude-related breathlessness isn’t supposed to be a factor until you hit 5,000 feet,

Is that the only instance? I saw us lose to UAB in Boise in the first round and again against BSU during the regular season. I was a little young in 2000 so I don't recall that.

We played Wisconsin in Albuquerque that year (high elevation as well). Wisconsin grinded the pace down to nothing and beat us. Wisconsin went to the final 4 that year.

Wisconsin basically held Jabari and Stomile in the post with two hands...and got away with it all game. That right there is why we never got anything going. We were way more athletic than them too, which is a shame.

I have hunted at that elevation years back..you don't get used to it in a few days.
