Burrow is the greatest Tiger of all time. Yes, it will be huge.

Post Covid of course, when Burrow returns to Tiger Stadium, will that be the loudest ovation ever? I know people go bananas for Shaq, but I can’t imagine any ovation like the one Joe will get.

Sure as hell hope so.

Never before in Louisiana sports history has one man been so beloved. He may have surpassed Brees. But it’s close.

For real LSU fans, he has far surpassed Brees.

Football is a great game because it is offers the participants the best opportunity to display a full set of abilities. Physical, mental, and sometimes virtuous. You can get by and even be great with just physical gifts but it’s the guys that have something extra that captivate an audience and inspire people to be more than they ever thought possible. The ones that make you pause and wonder if there’s anything they couldn’t accomplish in life. These are usually highly accountable individuals that bring people together in a way that makes them greater than the sum of their parts. Even among this select group, there are levels. I believe Joe is one of those individuals. He’s a one percenter of the one percenters. There will be a generation of Louisiana and Ohio youth inspired, for years, by the memories of Joe’s leadership, accomplishments, and by the way he conducted himself and continues to conduct himself. He’s a winner and a quality human being. I hope they cheer so fricking loud it registers on a certain seismograph nearby.

No need to knock Brees. How quickly people can forget what he meant to the state during a time of rebuilding. He and Joe are cut from the same cloth whether recent events are clouding your judgment or not.

Edit- I realize you aren’t knocking. Simply pointing out how you see things but Drew has given us blood sweat and tears for 15 years. We had Joe for 2.

I'm guessing Burrow got the loudest applause for any LSU student when he walked up and received his Master's Degree. It sounded on video like he had just scored a touchdown against Bama.

Are they clouding judgment or just showing who Brees really is?

What is a real lsu fan? And as a fan since I was born Burrow will never surpass Brees. He has 14 years of being a dominant player and the best role model for children and grown men. I fricking love Burrow but he only has 2 years here.

I think the Burrow-Brees thing depends on whether you are a Saints fan. I was born and raised in Louisiana, but I have never been a Saints fan. I don't dislike Brees, I'm just pretty indifferent toward him. Burrow, on the other hand, is the greatest Tiger ever, and LSU is my favorite sports team by far.
