The way he sees the ball his best baseball years will always be remembered in Baton Rouge so it too bad he doesn’t just stay.
There is nothing we have seen outside of raw power that suggests he will ever get to even high A.

Gonna be his only option to play baseball. Not getting drafted.

He can go play 1b for the Pirates.

He’s probably not gonna do much in the pros but if he stayed he’d get his name on the box alongside Furniss and Walker.
But he’s 100% leaving

I’m 35 and broke down and have a better chance of playing 1B next year for LSU than Jared Jones does….

He will be playing Men’s underhand softball somewhere next year.

Because you don’t simply get better by playing games. You get better by getting coaching, training, nutrition, etc
The SEC is far better at developing players than low level minor league baseball.
LSU will have more money invested in Jones than the pro team that signs him.

Hope so but not likely.

How have some of you been watching college baseball for 10+ years and still have zero understanding of draft leverage?
I’ve been watching college baseball for 40 years and today isn’t 10 years ago
Some people clearly don’t understand why leverage doesn’t matter anymore for later round guys.
Jones can get more from LsU for 1 year next year than his signing bonus on his mlb deal.
Times have changed my friend

He’ll be a 8th-10th rd pick

Shores should come back.
If shores has a few more outings like last night, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him coming he 1st this year. 101 is hard to teach

There’s less a chance of Shores coming back than Bear. The guy can hit 102 mph. I know some people may think it’s important to prove he can be a starter, but the mob doesn’t care.

So why sign for peanuts when you can make more playing for lsu next year and get better development while doing it.
True. I know what i am paying that guy to sign autographs. Between public and private signings they can do well

He probably won’t come back but I’ll promise you he’ll never make it past AA and if he’s lucky Triple AAA ball he simply not a good hitter. If Lsu offer him a nice NIL deal he might want to consider taking it and seeing if he can do better at the bat next year because other than that he’s gonna be selling insurance along with his minor league salary

Let's look at the pros and cons of coming back:
Pros:
1. Spending another year improving your approach
2. Become better at hitting off speed
3. Make bank with NIL
4. Graduate
5. Break HR record, win another natty, become a legend at LSU
6. Go to the minors more prepared in order to make majors quicker to make life changing money
Cons
1. Lose draft leverage so you are likely a lower round pick
2. Perhaps could make the league quicker if you leave after this year and improve in the minors (maybe)
3. Likely to make more money in minors + signing bonus than senior year at LSU

He would smash the home run record
And an MLB team could draft him and give him a $1 signing bonus and he wouldn’t be able to do shite.

Cons
Biggest con: He would turn 23 less than one month after being drafted. It’s not all about a signing bonus.
