Jordan Jefferson is better than him. That's an unfortunate truth, but a truth nonetheless.

Not sure what fantasy you based this off of. The product on the field doesn't justify your opinion. If you stated JJ has the potential to be better, I may agree. What he has done on the field doesn't prove it.

I think JJ's ability to run gives him another dimension. He isn't a better passer.

As long as they run an offense designed for JJ's talents, don't look for Lee or Mett to start.

so if

Do not be surprised to see all three of our QB's as capable SEC starters

and

They will all be adequate SEC QB's after Krags is through with their season preparation.

wouldn't it stand to reason that JJ would start all yr barring injury?

It makes much more sense for what I outline to unfold.

not really, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're outlining.

IMHO the problem is...LSU has too much talent and none of the players get enough game experience. Not a knock on Miles, there are just too many toys to play with. Not a bad problem to have though. Just my 2 cents.

1. He's not going to start.

2. He might get some decent playing time depending on the game and the lead.

3. He might, might make an NFL roster if he has a good tryout.

Yes, but what i said in this original post is that he has a top 10 NFL "release". His release is definitely NFL caliber, and i contend top-10 NFL caliber
I love JL too. Great kid and great teammate. You, however, are a fricking lunatic.

I think from a raw ability standpoint, Jefferson may offer more than Lee when one accounts for proper coaching.

it is ESSENTIAL that JJ suddenly make 3 significant improvements:
1) Seeing the field
2) Not staring down his primary target EVERY SINGLE PLAY
3) Vast improvement in the time of his very slow release.

He is a dream for a corner looking to jump a route.

Hopefully Krags has plans to rectify all three, or we will see that exact same player we say last year.

The mis-perception that JJ is suddenly better because of the end of last season and spring practice is fools gold for the following reasons

1) TAMU and Ole Miss had horrid pass defenses
2) JJ has never had any issues in practice when wearing the green protective jersey.

JJ had a good balanced game against 1 good team all of 2010, and that was the Bama game at home, in large part (statistically) based on the 2 consecutive passes from deep inside the 5, which accounted for te majority of pass yardage.

JJ was not good at all against Arky.

So, short of Krags fixing the 3 above listed items, expect JJ to make improvements, but not be too different from 2010 in total.

Krags has LOTS of work to fix JJ and JLee, so it is even money who evolves as the better QB in 2011.

I do agree that it is the better assumption that JJ starts against Oregon, and as long as he is reasonably improved, he may actually start every game next year.

BUT, I do not agree that this means he will get the proponderance of the 2011 snaps.

He has had what?...12 whole practices with the team. If he's not starting by now, he must be overrated.

or

Damn that "Les Miles offense" that keeps Mettenberger from starting.

These are issues for both Lee and Jefferson as both struggle with these flaws.

ETA: I still hold the opinion that these flaws are more of a product of the offense run by Crowton than the actual ability of the QBs. We will see this season.

Agreed.

Not sure if I can agree with you there. There were rumblings from a few folks on the Rant that he wasn't sharp in spring ball. Then, of course, we had that debacle on ESPN for the spring game in which he couldn't hit water if he dropped a ball off the side a cruise ship at sea.

It do agree with your assessment of what he needs to improve, with the notable omission that he needs to improve his accuracy.

Even in the game that so many JJ apologists use as his defining moment, v. TAMU, he missed SEVERAL wide open receivers on what should have been easy, routine throws. One might have been a TD to RR, but he overthrew him by 15 yards and was wide right to boot.

Sorry folks, but 11 of 20 passing doesn't get me all excited. Yeah, we won, but our ground game was chewing up yards like a goat in a fenced in lawn.
