I think if he were to go 7-1 to close out he should be in LSUs top three at least. Let him go out and get a top OC to go along with Aranda and I would not be mad at all with Big O as the head coach.

So LSU fired a NC winning coach to hire a DL coach that's never even been a coordinator?

Pretty sure he's been a HC twice.

He isn't exactly a cerebral man.

Is Miles?

It's college football, not rocket science.

He doesnt have to be. You have your coordinators for that.

How many successful head coaches failed before they succeeded?

You tell me. How many coaches have gone 3-21 or similar and then gone on to become consistently "successful"?

Alleva wouldn't go cheap firing a $4 mil natty coach for an internal candidate. Given his joke records at Ole Miss, O would be a Ron Zook of the SECW. Don't fall for it.

His record was significantly worse than any other coach there going back to the early 80's. Of the coaches that coached there more than one season, only one other coach had a comparably bad record going back to the 30s.

So no, not as touch as he made it look, which was tougher than almost everyone else.

You don't fire Miles and pay him 13 million just so you can hire your d-line coach. Come on people, have some sense.

He would have to have a lot of things to go his way for that to happen. He seems to be focusing on coaching in the moment and making sure its fun for us the fans and his players. frick it lets just enjoy a game for once

We don't want to over learn the lessons of history. Herman is a successful G5 coach. Who was the last G5 coach we hired?

Oeaux will be as good as miles was the last couple of years if Alleva is here. That's the best you can hope from any coach, including Herman. Remove Alleva, get someone that everyone respects, you will have another championship, possibly with O or Herman.
