I am trying to have a discussion on the criteria he will use

JL:

Year G-GS Att.-Comp.-INT Yds. TD LG
2007 Redshirt Season
2008 11-8 269-143-16 1,873 14 66
2009 7-1 40-16-1 197 2 38

Totals
18-9 309-159-17 2,070 16 66

CAREER HIGHS
Attempts: 38 vs. Florida, 2008
Completions: 23 vs. Florida, 2008
Yards: 287 vs. Georgia, 2008
Touchdowns: 3 vs. Georgia, 2008

JJ:

year G-GS Att.-Comp.-INT Yds. TD LG
2008 7-2 73-36-1 419 4 41
2009 11-11 272-169-6 1,964 16 58

Totals
18-13 345-205-7 2,383 20 58

CAREER HIGHS
Attempts: 37 vs. Ole Miss, 2009
Completions: 21 vs. Auburn, 2009
Yards: 250 vs. Ole Miss, 2009
Touchdowns: 3 vs. Washington, 2009

JJ has more sacks and a higher passing percentage by .10%

JL has, I recall, bout a .5 higher yards per pass

I don't have a problem picking out who I want to start come September and I would be surprised if Miles does either.

Now I see why Prom just quit early on in the thread. I forgot where I was. This is useless. JJ is the best ever and so is Miles. They'll never lose another game. Jefferson will never get sacked again and if Lee ever gets in the game every ball he throws will be a pick 6.

And I absolutely do not want this to turn into another "Lee vs. Jefferson" thread

But that is what it is.....another useless thread on an overworked subject.

1) The spring game is only a small snippet we get to see, and Jefferson has still outplayed Lee overall to maintain #1

2) Les is concerned with Lee's psyche and that no matter what he does/how well he plays in practice, like a lot of our fans, he just doesn't trust Lee in games

3) Les is feeling the warmth of his seat and doesn't feel like he's in a position to take such a gamble that could 'cause a huge backlash from the fanbase for even doing it, much less if it blows up in his face

I think all 3 of these are true.

#1 reason to me is that Lee, with ALL of the work he's done since the 2008 season, threw yet another pick 6 against a defense he knows well, in the spring game. I wouldn't need to see anything else to determine that it's just not there mentally for this young man. I know he's a great kid, has stuck it out, worked hard, etc. But if it's not there at game time, it's just not there. That performance anxiety is very difficult to change and I don't know what Lee has done to try and change it, but the latest pick 6 is evidence that the issue remains. If he threw one against our defense in limited playing time during the spring game, imagine what would happen against Florida or Alabama's defense. Wouldn't be pretty I'm afraid!

I guess the safeties for Florida and Alabama would know the play and come flying up to pick off a screen pass.

Dont forget how he blew the lead in tuscaloosa!

he went like 4-10, 0 TD, 1 INT, and got sacked

JJ was beating bama

You must be missremembering. Yes Jefferson took the lead 7-3 after throwing a touchdown pass to a wide open Deangelo Peterson (really underutilized last year). But Bama took the lead 10-7 and then Jefferson was sacked again and he got hurt on the play. We got a safety. Then we ran the ball down their throat after we brought Lee in and ran the ball all the way to the endzone, 15-10. Then Bama ran it down for a FG 15-13. Ridley was stopped on a 3rd and 1. Bama scores on a 73 yard pass to Jones and completes a 2pt conversion 15-21. All the sudden 3 straight passes for Lee who had previously one pass in each previous drive, 3 and out. Bama runs and kicks another FG 15-24. Our defense let us down and we quit running the ball the minute we went down by more than a FG. Most of Jeffersons passing yards were on two plays to two wide open recievers the rest of his damage was done by his running and the runningbacks.

Yeah, it's useless once the "Pick 6" characters come out of the woodwork. They're the ones i was talking about earlier in the thread.

They are proof positive that JLee will never improve as he matures and will throw 19 INT's per year with 8 run back for scores. There's no question that is the type of season he would have if he played. There's no arguing it.

100% incorrect. JJ was not beating Bama last year. When Lee came into the game LSU was behind, 10-7. He got us the lead on his first full series (LSU's last of the third quarter) when Scott was injured. Coincidentally, with Scott injured, LSU's running game disappeared. That is where we lost the game.

Didn't Ridley score a touchdown in that game?

good enough to make us forget about what the kid did last year against La. Tech? frick NO. Look what Jefferson did in his last start and what Lee did in his. JJ played decently and Lee had maybe the worst game for an LSU QB in 10 years.

Yes, he scored on that drive with an 8 yard run. And Scott had 37 yards and Trindon had 2. After that, he had one more carry for no yards and their running game had a total of 5 yards, unless you want to count sacks to Lee (which I don't because he was likely trying to throw behind out pathetic line) and then our running game had a total of -7 yards. So your point is?

Again, with Scott out, our running game was no longer a threat. I was simply pointing out as Billy Bob did that Lee going into the game was not what lost it for us.
