But Miles should have been arguing for a review of how much time was left.

In his defense, he could bitch all he wanted the request for the review in the last 2:00 has to come from upstairs.

Furthermore if there is 3 seconds left you can spike the ball and then kick a field goal.

Oh, you want them to have reviewed the completion? The completion that stopped the clock long enough for the chains to move?

You know damn good and well what we're talking about here and are just trying to stir shite.

I really don't think we got screwed against Ole Miss. If anything Ole Miss got screwed by the horrible calls in the first quarter that would have put the game out of reach for us. When watching the Texas game tonight, that last second ticked off blatantly late. I knew they were going to add that final second. It wasn't even close. The refs signaled to stop the clock the instant the ball hit the ground. In the FSU game, I believe that time had already expired by the time the refs signaled to stop the clock.

By horrible, you mean one call for diving into the endzone, right?

Those three calls your talking about all came on the same drive.

No shite stirring. I don't have my gloves, barrel or diesel fuel.

Your guy caught the ball. The clock stops to move the chains. The ball is set, and the game clock runs. End of story.

When the clock stops is reviewable. See tonight.

The dive and the block in the back on the pick six were both bullshite. I didn't realize the wide receiver going out of bounds on his own was on the same drive. My bad...

I see your point. I think that Mack Brown screaming that there was 1 second left MAY have influenced the review from uptstairs. Maybe Miles would have influenced the Booth, maybe not. My point was that he was unprepared for what happened. For $4 million a year, he should be prepared, in particular with Chavis calling the defense and Crowton calling the offense, Coach Miles should be better at game management.

Judging from the call that Texas got tonight we should have had THREE seconds added at Ole Miss.

Ridonkulous.

It was also very obvious that they should have put one second back on the clock. Also the clock on tv didn't exactly match the actual scoreboard clock.

I'm not doubting his lack of game management skills...the time remaining should have been reviewed.

Don't you think the fact that a catch (OM game) on the field versus a incomplete pass out of bounds (TX game) factored into the situation? I know this is a sore spot, but take the P&G glasses off for a second. The booth in the TX game saw the ball sail out of bounds and took a look at a play that kills the clock until the ball is snapped. The booth in the OM game saw a catch, and the official signal/set/whistle. Nothing nefarious, just shitty luck for LSU. All those 4 down conversions from '07 had to cosmically balance out at some point.

now everytime in a football game if they adjust the clock at the end of the game, i will think back to LSU-Ole Miss 09'.

No, the craptastic SEC Replay Officials factored into the situation.

I will think of the horrible playcalling from that field position and the 17 seconds that were allowed to tick off the clock on fourth down. I will also remember Verne yelling, "What are they doing?!" and, "Oh my gosh!" It also burns that poor clock management at the end of a game is referred to as pulling a Les Miles. That's what I'll remember.

Agreed. Football is a crazy game. Mack Brown was 0:01 away from being blasted even worse than Miles...and if they win in Pasadena, no one will ever remember that play.

Even though Texas won, Mack Brown's clock management was much worse. They still had a timeout left. And seeing how the Ole Miss game wasn't too long ago, shouldn't every coach in America make sure that they don't make the same mistake? Les Miles sure as hell made sure he got that timeout called in the Arky game.

he clearly got out of bounds when it mattered

He probably wouldn't have had time to catch that pass that "mattered" had the refs correctly called him inbounds on the previous play where he was OBVIOUSLY not out of bounds.
