The best stat about that year is that LSU beat the following teams that year ranked in the final top 25:

Clemson #2 (neutral site NOLA)
Georgia #4 (neutral site Atlanta)
Florida #6
OU #7 (neutral site Atlanta)
@Bama #8
Auburn #14
@Texas #25

They beat 5 teams in the final top 8 and only one of those games was in Death Valley.

Actually if Marshall doesn’t get hurt and miss half the season, he was actually leading all 3 in TDs at the time of his injury.
