So we put our trust in Les is More and we hired the Mad Hatter.
Now I will be there first to admit that:
1) Les has done an outstanding job at recruiting. Nobody can deny that.
2) Was loyal to LSU when his Alma Mater came calling.

However he is not doing these things:
1) Developing talent as it should be.
2) Putting the best players on the field and maximizing our talent advantage.
3) Utilizing our talent in big games to give his players the best chance at winning.
4) Making in game decisions.
5) Playing to our strengths and to the talent we have at that particular season. He constantly tries to pound a square peg in a round hole, year in and year out!
6) failed miserably with the Malveto project (fixed it though with Chavis) Now its Crowton.

Very well said. I wouldn't call myself a PosiTiger, but I do defend Les a lot, probably more than I should, but I am aware that I like him more as a person than a coach, which isn't a good thing.

How can you say that Les develops the talent? At any other school a player with the talent of Jarret Lee and Keiland Williams would be in the Heisman consideration. If you are satisfied with mediocrity then let Michigan come a callen! The problem is he doesn't have 'the process'.

Utah beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl the same way Louisiana Tech played us so tough Saturday night. Both Alabama and LSU had both come off of hard fought losses in extremely important games and were not mentally ready to play those games. Those are called trap games for a reason and we are fortunate we won ours. Bama never showed up for the Utah game because they didn't want to be there.

i don't think les is as bad as all that, but surely lsu is capable of recruiting someone better than jarrett lee for qb (i understand ryan perriloux screwed that situation); i mean lee should be playing in the division w/ north tx, arky state, la.-monroe, etc

All of you Fire Les Miles rantors better get a life because he isn't going anywhere. All of your so called reasoning doesn't hold up to the fact that he has the best record at LSU in his tenure than any other coash in the HISTORY of the school. He has class and he has character and we should be proud of him and of our team.
Thankfully you brain surgeons have no say in the matter. If you need to complain about your team and coach you can always become fans of USC, Michigan, Georgia, Miss State, or about 100 or so other teams who have worse records than us.

Can't the same be said for Pete Carroll? Look at what happened to him after losing his defensive coordinator. Seems a lot like lsu 2008

Les Miles is a great coach and may go to Michigan next year.

Miles isn't perfect.

1. Talent development has been a problem.
2. Crowton is clearly living up to the reputation of developing a confused offense.

But Miles has kept LSU in the top 10 all year, with a sophomore QB and a schedule that included the #1 and #2 teams in the country. LSU should have beaten Bama, but suffered too many injuries to beat a team like that at home.

Stop thinking this. Michigan never had any intention of hiring Miles.

talent is making up for Miles incompetence right now.
This has been the case since that first game at ASU. LSU was a 4th down prayer away from starting the Miles era at 0-2. Go back and look at his first 40 games. So many of those games were won because LSU simply had more talented players. Miles could have easily been 22-18 instead of 34-6. LSU still has good players, but they don't have difference makers like Doucet, Bowe, Russell, Addai, Hester, Kyle Williams,Steltz, etc.... You could always count on those guys to come through when the game was on the line.

Plus, you left out one MAJOR thing he also did that not many other coaches would have, including your boy Nick S. Not only did he turn down his alma mater for LSU, but he also kicked that thug Perriloux off the team.
Fact Check!!!
First Miles never turned down his alam matta, the UM AD was busy off shore yachting off the coast of Florida and missed the Miles deal.
Nick Saban kiked and All SEC CB off the team for failing a drug test. I believe RP failed drug test, missed meetings, challeneged Miles and when Miles could no longer hide the facts he booted the guy.

By this rationale, Saban only won one SEC Championship.

Never will again will an SEC team win an SEC Championship with 3 loses. We did in 2001.

In 2007, the standings set up to where we could have lost three and still gone to Atlanta. Prior to the Ole Miss game, we had sealed the Division, and had two potential SEC losses remaining with one under our belt. So I am not sure where you're going with this. If you're saying that after 2001 there hasn't been a team that would win its Division with three losses, that is false... in 2007 we could have, we just didn't expend all three potential losses.

Wow wryder1, we should replace Les Miles with you. I bet you would have 3 consecutive 10 win seasons and a national championship. You know how I know that? All from your brilliant analysis here on the rant. You really have opened my eyes to how stupid Les Miles is. He sucks at coaching and you would be much better. When can you start?

Look LES, HATES losing. He hates it. He will get the Offense fixed during bowl preparation

You are frigging ignorant if you accept fixing the offense by the bowl game. We suck and Les is clueless. We are lucky to have our record and I don't give a care of 8-2 because it is very fortunate to be there. If we had whipped up on Vandy, Wash, MSU, and Tech and played better offensively against Fla & Bama, then I would be proud of the 8-2 record. Now, we are lucky and Miles barely gets by by talent because his OL & DL suck arse as his play calling.

On top of that, our signature win is against Auburn. They aren't even in the top 25.
