Because he is awful at his job. My biggest complaint though is that after all the time he has been here he still has no clue how to relate to the LSU fanbase and pisses all over our way of fandom.

He doesn't want to deal with another coaching search. He is lazy.
She should have been gone years ago. Nikki isn't being extended just for recruiting, for which she rarely does. He's giving her a "second chance" which is dumb. She hasn't accomplished anything with her players at LSU. She is now in year 8 and hasn't made it past the first round of the NCAAT in 5 years. Has a coaching carousel w/ annual suspensions and isn't ranked in the top 25 like ever.
She does not deserve an extension.

He lost Herman because Zero leaked the hire to ESPN on Thanksgiving. That got Texas worried they were going to lose their guy. Strong was fired and Texas got in the bidding war.
At that point Joe should have over paid like we did with Nick in 1999 or started from scratch. Joe felt like someone needed to be announced Friday morning to save face. Thus we got Zero on Black Friday 2016.
Joe should have regrouped and interviewed a few more candidates. But his panties were too much in a wad to think straight.
