Why only star players?
Why not those players that have a borderline chance at making an NFL roster as 2nd string?

League minimum is like $450k per year.
No it is not millions, but it would likely take that person almost 10 years to make that much money with an exercise science/business/general studies degree.

Greedy won't even have to a pro-day if he doesn't want to.
These other players are almost counting fully on being healthy for their pro-day performance.

bc he's guaranteed millions already

the other guys still haven't proven themselves and thus need more games to improve their value before the draft

its quite easy to see buddy

While I agree that sitting out for the bowl game is kinda chicken shite and sucks for his teammates and fans the incessant bitching about it is making it worse. Move on

Cause hes the only selfish one on the team...so far

ETA, I absolutely hate guys sitting out bowl games. These players made a commitment to their team, their brothers. Now with only one game left that in THEIR eyes means nothing...they choose to sit out. Look, youre not going to get hurt for crying out loud.

Practice and prepare with your team, dress out and play like 35% of the snaps. It will save you the public scrutiny and look better in the eyes of the NFL.

Because he’s a top 5 pick and his value can only go down from here. There is a massive difference between getting a multi million signing bonus vs getting one for 20k or less.. It’s all about getting the guaranteed money right off the bat.

Nope. Those players (likely seniors) have 3-4 years worth of film to make a highlight reel. One extra bowl game is NOT going to make a difference.

They need and must be healthy for their pro-day evaluations
That is more important than 1 bowl game

Let is rest already. Its just a bowl game. If he did play, it would be at about 25% effort so he doesn't get hurt. Would rather a backup play and give 100%.

Glad he is sitting out. He took enough plays off in the A&M game. We need someone in there that will hit.

If you ever played sports growing up you would understand that a risk of injury is increased if youre playing not to get hurt.

Going 100% actually decreases your chances of injury

It's funny seeing fans claim that he's the selfish one for not risking injury and $20M while the fans want him to stay to help LSU win an exhibition game. There is no better example of the pot calling the kettle black.

First, Greedy isn't the only player sitting out, nor is this the first year players sat out.

Anyone of you who thinks Greedy should play is just screaming to the world that you are a complete idiot. You're a bunch ignorant kids who don't understand the real world.

Then why is he playing if he has millions to lose?

Because if everything goes according to plan, that star will sign a +20 million dollar contract and is essentially guaranteed roster spot. The borderline player might as well playing the game because there's a solid chance it will be the last one he ever takes meaningful snaps in.
